Kenny I watched the match live on Sky and for the first 15 minutes I thought Bahrain was going to walk it as they seemed so fast and played quite well. The Kiwis gradually got into the game and the goal was a good one.The Kiwi keeper played a blinder and saved a penalty and deservedly got man of the match.

Robbie had the initial chance in that passage of play (it was handball in the lead up to it), ball broke to Lawrence then that dirty manc Evra deflected it wide actually. Incidentally did anyone see Evra's dive. Should have been booked.

Hard to see us coming back from this one in Paris.............wish us luck.

Yeah, I saw that in the replays later on.  Just looked like a bad miss on first viewing.

Tough night ahead for you in Paris, good luck!

It isnt over yet, thanks for your optimism! Henry complimented the support....it was deafening, probably the last football match to ever be played at Croker! World Cup needs the Irish fans to be honest - take USA 94 for example

Aviva stadium opening soon (redeveloped Lansdowne - fantastic ground) and the bigots at the GAA will lock the doors to "foreign" sports as soon as the football and rugby leaves.

Thought the Irish were unlucky in the first half and Lawrence should of been shot for that miss.

Didn't see much of the second-half as my brother and his mates wanted to watch the UFC.

Saw Anelka's goal with the aid of a deflection, but just think it will be too much of an ask to see Ireland go to France and win by two goals.

What are you on about? Whats a biggot? GAA bailed out the FAI AND IRFU while Lansdowne was being redeveloped. Imagine the embarrassment of an Irish team playing home games in England Scotland or Wales. A fu**in amateur association with an 83000 capacity stadium bailed yiz out. Be thankful you ungrateful c**t

Money spoke there, how many years did it take them to open it up. I know a lot of GAA members and they hate the fact football is played there. Yet it was ok for them to open it up for American football years back.

I dont appreciate you calling me that by the way, you dont know me, I dont know you. Just raising a point. And that is my view, yes the FAI & IRFU were lucky and should be grateful but there are a lot of dinosaurs there in that particular organisation that will be glad to see the back of it unfortunately because it is a fantastic venue.

The game to watch is tomorrow's clash,Egypt vs Algeria both level on points and it could be a potential time bomb with a repeat of 20years ago when all hell broke out even to the extent where the Egyptian team doctor had his eye gouged out with a broken bottle, lets just hope sanity prevails both on and off the pitch and that we get a great football match.
      Standings at he moment.

And they did it in a fantastic way. Zaki scored 1-0 in the first minutes of the game, then Abou Trika made it 2-0 in the 50th min of the 2nd half (95th). That's what football is all about, take a look:

1-0: مصر والجزائر Egypt VS Algerie الهدف الاول عمرو زكى
2-0: مصر والجزائر Egypt VS Algerie الهدف الثانى عماد متعب

Just settling down to watch this on Eurosport.

Ground in Sudan looks chocker with a boss atmosphere, can't hardly hear the national anthems.
