      Bump.

Season is coming up quick! Bloody doesn't seem all that long ago we were bitching about grand final replays, but here we are again :D

What are peoples thoughts on the season? I'm hopeful for my Power hopefully making the finals, new coach at the start for the first time since I was 11 years old so big changes. I loved Primus as a player and he seems to have great support from the club in his coaching role so I really hope he does some great things.

AussieRed, how do you reckon those Blues will go? Dmasta and your dogs? Anyone else? :D

Oh, and the whole Fev thing as well.. now there's a great subject to discuss in the Alcoholism thread!

Mate, I reckon we'll be alright with the reigning Brownlow Medallist leading form the front again.  ;)

Hoping for a top 4 finish so we can get 2 finals this time.  ;)

Thinking about changing my team since Adelaide have no connection to me and I haven't really watched them at all. Just saw them once....My dad likes Kilda, but I am still unsure. Might support Port, since Bigv  ;D

I loved Choco too. But he did make life difficult towards the end of his tenure didn't he? Still it'd be a crazy scenario if our young side was close to ultimate but needed that Senior influence and he returned to coach us in five years.....  if he hasn't completely lost it by then.

Only 8 days 'til we play Collingwood in Melbourne first game..... will you be going AussieRed?

Yeah he did a bit, i think he just needed a break. He reminded me of Benitez a bit, someone who was a great coach and funny as F**k in his own way, but misunderstood - and was in need of a break.

Hope we knock off the pies, can't see it happening though. Doubt AussieRed would go considering he's a Carlton fan ;)

Listening to the Port v West Coast game, down by a couple now but keeping in touch. Need to start playing some better footy though, bit soft right now.

Two drawn games already? Gotta love Aussie Rules :D

Couple of good trades in the trade week for Port! Got Renouf from the Hawks, so we have ourselves two young ruckman to hopefully build a good partnership for years to come. Then we nabbed Brad Ebert from West Coast which I'm VERY happy with ;D The Eberts are an institution of Port Adelaide football, and its great to have him back in South Australia. Kid is only 21, great young midfielder so I'm really excited about that.

      R.I.P Jim Stynes

Hugely regarded in his homeland for what he has achieved in Australia. Giant of a man who fought a brave battle. I thought he'd beaten it but sadly not.

I believe he done brilliant work for the youths in Australia. A model Irishman and adopted Aussie

      Thoughts with his family

I remember a season or two ago when I was watching the Footy and a Melbourne player scored a goal and kicked the ball right into the demons cheer squad and who should mark the ball but Jim Stynes and he was the president of that club at the time. That's basically the equivalent of John Henry sitting in the kop end with the true die hards.

He single handedly saved the Melbourne Demons from going under and I think even those who strongly disliked that club (myself being one of them) still had great love and respect for him.

RIP Jim. Only the good die young.

Yup. I was shocked as because it's a little harder to keep up with the news over here, last I heard he was doing okay. Brilliant man. Still have memories of my first games watching on TV as a kid him being so great to watch. Consecutive games record holder, only player from outside Australia to have won the Brownlow. And a F***ing saint of a man to boot. People wonder why I'm an atheist, this is one of the reasons why.

RIP big Jim. The world is a lesser place without your brilliant spirit here.

Gave the Doggies a scare in the first quarter but didn't do much after that. I think they'll probably pick up a win somewhere along the line this season (probably Port Adelaide :p) I just hope Callan Ward has to spend every cent of his 800k a year on hospital bills when someone crunches the w**ker.
