back on topic, John Motson at last years FA cup final:

"This is a cup final in its own right"

I can't recall exact quotes from commentators, but I do remember this particular commentary from an annoying Spanish commentator on the La Liga.
It went along the lines of something like,

Samuel Eto, he passes da ball to Deco. Deco runs. Deco shoots. Deco hits the post!

Not exactly a great quote, but it was definitely funny at that time hehe.

the best commentary without a doubt is radio 5 on the 25th may 2005. green and his gang had written us off at h/t and had to eat humble pie at the end.

Clive tysledly (sp) when Barca were playing arsenal in euro cup final last year:

"the linesman who was scheduled to be here tonight got withdrawn because he was wearing a Barcelona shirt in public......DUUUUHHH"

Thanks , i dont think the aldo 'five times baby is on there', think he must have said it off air or something but ive defo heard it on radio city , cant find it on youtube though. I think you can buy the Istanbul, radio city commentary or download it or something

I remember the commentary for this one but not the actual match! It was a Champions League one as it was on ITV and the commentator went on a little spree of sexual innuendos! It was along the line of:

'Liverpool are on top now, trying to find a penetrating position! They're pushing further now...'

And so on  It went on for about 2 minutes! It's going to annoy me which match it was now though!

Whoever the commentator was during the 1974 FA Cup final, when describing Kevin Keegan's second goal "Heighway to Smith and Tommy Smith didn't even have to move to get it."

And what should never, ever be forgotten, one Gerald Stinstadt referring to one of our defeats in December 81 as "The Party's Over." We were stranded in 12th position at the time, shame we went on to win the league again!!!
