      Riera's 50th Appearance
      Nov 26, 2009 08:00:33 pm
With Carra closing in on 600, Stevie on 500, Nando and Aurelio nearing 100 appearances, Albert's isn't the biggest landmark but still worth a congratulations. The next time we see him in his Liverpool shirt will be his 50th appearence for the club.

Started quite well but went off the boil a bit recently. Has had his fair share of injuries as well.

Not always been your biggest fan Albert, but still well done for reaching this landmark.

Shown more in his first 50 / 49, than Babel showed in his first 100.

Let's not beat around the bush.  He was another bargain basement buy because we aren't allowed to sit at the big table with the big boys.  Been a bit injury ravaged lately but he's definitely got a bit of graft in him.  I think anybody who saw his reaction to getting injured against Birmingham, compared with Babel's reaction to injury against Man City can see the gulf in determination between them.

Scored a couple of pearlers as well.   I hope he gets fit and goes on to make a bit of a name at Anfield for himself.

His cracking goals aside, that probably marked me the most during his time here.

The poor lad was obviously gutted that he couldn't continue, and I hope he'll manage to find some consistency in his performances when he returns to full fitness.

We've seen (in fits and starts, admittedly) that he is capable of having a real influence on his day. If he can do it more often, he could become a regular.

      Keep grafting, Albert.

      Seconded.

He started excellently, and considering he was a second, or even third, choice signing, he has done enough to earn the respect of The Kop.

Keep on going fella! The more players we have who actually try, the better.

      Hint hint, Ryan Babel.

      Congratulations Albert.

He can be a good player for us if he keeps it well consistent. Been consistently inconsistent.

Absolutely agree with you.  A huge difference in attitude.  I'm not his biggest fan, think he goes missing too often, but that reaction showed he cares, and I hope when he's fit, he comes back and shows us what he can do.

      Thirded.

Oh, nearly forgot, congrats Albert on your 50!

Frustrating is the word for Albert. But he has the determination to succeed i feel. He just lets his mind get ahead of his feet a little to often i feel. But as its been said the polar opposite between his and Babels reaction to injury was clear to all. I reckon had he gone down with the knock Babel took he would have tried a lot harder to get up.

Congrats on a sometimes wonderful, sometimes frustrating, 50 games. Hope to see some more consistent ones in the future. And a few more of those pearlers you can score as well.

Bit like Aurellio, injuries aside he could be a key player for us although he does tend to drift in and out of matches...but there again.......dont most wingers?

Agree with the attitude aspect......TAKE NOTE MR BABEL!!!!!!!!!

Hope he gets fit soon and can get back out to playing out wide, taking it to the by line. Much prefer to have him out there with Aurelio in behind him at LB.

5 goals from 40 starts isn't too shabby in fairness.

Great player, hopefully he'll get fit and start producing some great performances. If if he doesn't, he still entertains with some world class dribbling.
