Songs That You First Liked, But Now Hate

The opposite of the Songs That Grow on You thread.

Happens from time to time. You hear a song for the first time and like it, but the more you hear it, the more it pisses you off.

Mine is I'm Yours by Jason Mraz.

First time I heard it I thought it was cool, funky, with witty lyrics. But the more I heard it, the more it started working away at my nerves, until it got to the point where if I came across it on the radio I'd shout "F**k off" and zap it straight away.

What songs make you shout and swear whilst alone in the car?

The missus loves it and I can't stand it anymore.

Spanish Train by Chris de Burgh always played it then went to see him on the Empire and went off him right then - didn't play it again.

Quite liked it at first now I can't stand the song.

Pretty much every F***ing song on Vampire Weekend's eponymous album. I hate it and hate myself for ever liking it!

All the Hillary Duff songs ! I used to be obsessed with her in 5th grade , now I can't stand her ...and even Girlfriend by Avril Lavinge

All the time , you love it when you first hear it listen to it 5 time and then get bored with it later on .

Turn it off when I hear it now on the radio or jump past if I get it on my ipod when its playing randomly.

Have to agree with that. Use Somebody has got a bit annoying too. It's not the KOL's fault though I suppose.

'Smells Like Teen Spirit' - Nirvana
I was a teenager when the Nevermind came out and already a big Nirvana fan. I never thought I could bore of playing it and many a pissed-up night were spent belting out the lyrics the various songs on there, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' always being the one that got the most air time.
Now I'm sick of hearing it, sick of seeing the video, sick of 50 somethings with shirts tucked into their tight jeans banging on about what a classic it is
