Best Video Game Hero Ever?

Thought it'd be interesting to have a vote.

I've probably missed quite a few, but I tried to choose heroes who have spanned a series of games, so no one-off wonders like the characters from the Final Fantasy series.

I figured that to be the best, you had to have been around a while and featured in multiple games.

I voted Crash Bandicoot

Loved those games as a young lad though, and i have noticed you can get them cheap to download from the PS Store onto the PS3 so i might do that as well.

I've gone for Sonic as that's the only one on the list I've played.  My favourite is Ratchet and Clank, loved that game (probably because it's one of the only ones I've been able to complete )
