He said in a recent interview (Rafa) that he thought Torres was worth maybe £100 million. Add to that the fact that Torres doesn't want to leave, and the fact that Rafa doesn't want to sell him.

We've received bids in just about every transfer window since he's been here, there is absolutely no chance that we will sell him in January, to any club.

I also heard or read somewhere recently that if Torres is sold against Rafa's will, Rafa will walk so can't see Nando going anywhere.

No I can't see it happening either, firstly he's worth more, secondly he doesn't want to leave.

So they apparently offered £70mill in the summer which got rejected straight away so they think instead of going higher they will go £20mill lower
