Me neither, and I'm pretty sh*t hot at Geography. I'm guessing eastern Europe and a knackered stadium with a running track around it.

Yeah and cheap beer and cheap women... :f_tongueincheek:

      U-ni-rea Urziceni.

Liverpool will face Lille or Fenerbache (away match first) if they get past Unirea.

Unirea managed to get more points than the reds in the Champions League. Beating both bottom placed Rangers and Sevilla who went on to win the group.  Be wary.

If Everton get through to the last 8 they will do well

(Although they do have the 2nd leg at home like Liverpool in the next round - if we get there)

Should be easy, as long as we dont take them for granted and underestimate them. They did almost get to the knockout stages in a very tough group in the Champions League.

Agreed. We were too complacent in the CL Home games this year. Need to stuff these guys in the Home leg, and then sit back and take it easy in Romania.

If we get through to the last eight, the draw is pretty much set up such that all the teams are tough really.

Still we've one of the much more straight-forward route to the Last 8. The seeds counted for sh*t really.

Injuries have eased and we should be getting more fluidity in our game. No space for complacency but surely confidence and attacking play is key

Some kind of issue with the fixtures. With Everton and Liverpool both due to be at home the same night.

Just reading that Unirea have a mid-winter break until March.  Nice and rested then eh.

      Ha.

Everton have to play their game on the Tuesday night at Goodison at... 5:45pm

      Quote
Following negotiations with Uefa, Everton have been informed they must play the first-leg tie on Tuesday in order for Liverpool to play their first leg tie against Unirea Urziceni in the same competition in the standard Thursday night slot on February 18.

Chief Executive Robert Elstone told evertonfc.com: "We battled Uefa extremely hard and made the obvious issues very clear indeed, trying every route to find an alternative. But the reality we were left with meant there was no other option."

Everton Club Secretary Dave Harrison explained: "In circumstances like this Uefa have a stadium and cities clash document which quite clearly indicates the procedures that need to take place and the order of priority for eligibility. Unfortunately, as a result of those priorities Liverpool have staked a claim for the Thursday night standard Europa League kick-off time.

"The same document makes it clear fixtures should be fulfilled on Tuesday with an 18:00 CET kick-off (5pm GMT) if they cannot be played on Thursday. We have managed to negotiate an extra 45 minutes beyond that time."

Liverpool take priority over Everton as they finished higher than the Blues in last season's Premier League table. Had Everton won the FA Cup final against Chelsea, the situation would have been reversed and Liverpool would have been left with no option but to play on the Tuesday.

To please Five or whoever is showing that game, because it would finish before the CL fixtures that night.

As amusing as it is, it is wrong and tight on the blueshite.

Like their gormless MD said - it affects things like stewarding - normal fellas who probably have a day job to do.  Mind you they are the local people's club so everyone lives within 5 minutes of the ground like they keep telling us.

Good point, didnt think of that - its still bollox though, TV really pisses me off with their scheduling they dont give a monkeys about people who want to see the game live.

Actually I've changed my mind. I don't think it's tight. I laugh heartily and loudly at the blueshite.

Especially after reading some of their own typical bitter responses.

Why does our game get dealt with the early kick-off, just to accommodate the RS, the team UEFA get all stiff and moist about. Sorry to bring this up, but why a club who have the only set of fans in this country to have been responsible from banning clubs from European action in the mid 80's, gets preferential treatment, is totally beyond me.

Why they couldn't just have us have our game the week after or let us have the away leg first i don't know.

Second leg's the week after. And yeah, lets just change the rules of the competition so you can have the home leg second. Dipshits.

Hope they go to Lisbon and get tonked 5-0 again.

Looking at draw i dont think any game is easy these days for reds. Ironically the only game in last two months that we won comfortably in last 2months was the manure game. When cl draw came out we were supposed to have easiest group. Rest as they say is history. Anyway there are 2 months left wonder what our form and league position would be then? I wish we thrash them in home leg so tat we dont need to exert in away leg. The away leg is sandwitched between two crucial league games
