      Premiership on Setanta: Commentator suggestions?
      May 17, 2007 12:01:48 am
SKY lose their exclusivity to the Premiership next season with Setanta getting a good go at some of the games.

Setanta can have 46 matches - Sky will get 92.  (Sky is technically paying just under £5 million per live game, compared to Setanta's £3 million) Absolutely crazy money.

But who do you think Setanta should bring in to compete with Andy Gray and Richard Keys  :tosser:

How about? Ron Atkinson, John Barnes and that Irish Eamon Dunphy (see here for more http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/lfc-videos/2007/03/12/irish-idiot-commentators-after-liverpool-barcelona/)

What a comedic line up - guaranteed to brighten up those Reading v Sunderland games.  I'd pay up!

It would have to be Carlos Setanta for me, and at half time he could give us all some guitar playing lessons.

Pete Price and Peter Kay... ;)

Seriously though, they have Patrick Dolan as their main football pundit apparently?

As long as it's not some biased c***s, I'll be happy, whoever they bring in.

Steve Mcmanaman is going to be on setanta next season as far as i'm aware.  I'm sure i read it in the daily record in a story regarding the uefa cup final in glasgow.
If it's anything like the spl coverage on setanta then i'm sure it will be sh*te.  probably be rod hull and emu presenting and the girl that done the fulham game on motd commentating.  Better than andy gray though i suppose.

As sh*te as some of these suggestions are... there is no denying they will be piss funny.

Pete Price... can you imagine. He would probably interrupt his commentary to travel with Petr Cech to the hospital or something.

As long as he can do the commentary from in front of a portable tv in Garlands I think he'd do it.

My choice would be to have Kirsty Gallagher do the commentary whilst appearing in the corner of the screen in a Basque (thats the underwear not the Spanish separatists) then if the game is not going well you wouldn't give a S**t anyway!

While ago there was talk that SKY SPORTS commentator Martin Tyler was switching over to Setanta, but thats gone quite recently.  I've have 'Aldo' to doing are games, he is top quality listening to him on radio city.

      ;D,

Personally Alexi Sayle would be a good commentator, calling cr@p, cr@p! As I'll be at the Pub for the games where the volume is way too high I will be buying some ear plugs and listening the Radio commentry I don't care. :boggl3y3dummy-ani:

I think Kirsty Gallagher is a good idea.  How about every 10 minutes that there isn't a goal she takes an item of clothing off.  If there is a goal she puts it back on.

Reckon they could charge £20 a game for that.

They can charge £25 a game if she comes in wearing five items of clothing....
And you could still have a four nil win in the space of fourty minutes! That's what I'd call value for money! ;D Everyone's a winner!
