in truth he is a pr**k, he shows true potential, maybe he has some sort of ego problem, dont a lot of young men on big wages.

Any true professional wud take the rejection and come back stronger. Prove to the manager that your too good to be dropped e.g. Yossi wasn't getting a regular start in the team, he knuckled down and showed what he was capable of. Some people just don't want to put the effort in.
