Three tickets in block 208 - bringing my mate's two little boys to their first ever footie match. Have already taught them Torres' song and Gerrard's (or 'the one with swearing' as the youngest one calls it - he's only five!) Cannot wait for it now - well excited!!

This is the first time im going on my own.. So will be using the train.. What's the best way to get to anfield from lime street station? if anyone gonna be using the lime street station. let me know. cheers.

Routes 26 or 27 from Paradise St. Bus Station both go directly to the stadium. From Queen Square you can take 17B, 17C, 17D or 217. All stop outside the ground.

On match days you can also use the Soccerbus service, which runs from Sandhills Station on the Merseyrail Northern Line. This is a very cheap way to get to Anfield, with tickets costing only £1 each way. Tip: When buying your rail ticket, ask for a Soccerbus add-on and travel for only £1 return on the Soccerbus

Probs best to get a taxi from Lime Street. Last few times Ive done that Ive been able to share a cab with some other reds so it ended up only being about a £1 fare...although the last time the guy paying refused to accept any money of me! What a nice chap he was.

Going there is not a problem, i will be well on time with few bevvys in town but just curious for on the way back to the station. Is it safe to say to use the buses or taxi or does it take ages?

Have always been to anfied on the car with cousins but this is 1st time on my own.

I always walk back home from Anfield (live about 5 mins from Lime Street) and its very safe and easy to do. You just follow the crowds However it does take the best part of an hour but I just enjoy a stroll along the scary roads and throught the scary parks...so you might just wanna get one of the soccerbus' lined outside the Kop.
