Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke is set to work on a solo album, it has been revealed.

Producer Hudson Mohawke told BBC Radio 1xtra that he may be working on the record with Okereke.

Bloc Party have just completed a UK tour and are set to go on hiatus.

"It hasn't been finalised yet, but I'm doing a bit of stuff for Kele from Bloc Party's solo album," the producer said. "He's doing a record with one of the guys from Spank Rock."

      Owl City.

Check out Crime in Stereo's new LP out at end of February, they're a great band.

      Oh and an inside tip.

My two friends bands will be releasing full lengths this year and they will do well.

      They are:

Caesars Rome (imagine Funeral for a friend but more epic)

      I Am Hope (Biffy Clyro-esque)

Please check them both out, as they are the best the Welsh scene has to offer at the moment.

New Spoon album next week..though I've got it already.  :f_whistle:

Magnetic Fields, Alkaline Trio, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings all have new music out this winter/spring. All of which excite me.

Other TBA are Dan Sartain, The New Pornographers, Devo, Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire, GANG OF FOUR and Social Distortion. Though, based on the last SD I migh give this one a pass. Besides, Mike Ness is kind of a dick.

As mentioned ... Vampire Weekend last week.

This link shows what's coming out in '10 but release dates vary in different parts of the world.

Early doors yet but i reckon Plan B's - The Defamation Of Strickland Banks will turn out to be the "must have" album for a lot of folks. I've been listening to a 6 track (advanced) copy of it lately and what i'm hearing is an album that will make the lad (Ben Drew) a big, big name. Full album due out early April ....give it a rattle.

Got me these just today Bklyn.

I have to admit to having an instant liking for 'The Brutalist Bricks' in particular - i'm on my third listen as i type......'The Mighty Sparrow' (a mighty fine opener), 'Bottled in Cork' and 'Woke Up Near Chelsea' (bit of a 70's feel there) - me likey.

Frightened Rabbit - "The Winter of Mixed Drinks"....Hoots mon, what is it with you and Scottish accents?  >:D

Until now they've been a well known 'secret' but this is the album (second listen now) that will catapult these lads into the big-time. Whilst a bit low-key and too 'Snore Patrol meets R.E.M.' for me to ever admit to loving; i can appreciate a good band/album when i hear it. This band will blow festival crowds away, with their sound, this Summer. ..... Not too shoddy: it will definitely fall into the "must have" category for many.

Is this the first Ted Leo album you've listened to? Knowing what I know of your musical taste, I feel confident saying that you will like - maybe love - his earlier works.

Don't know about the Scot thing. :D It was either the Irvine Welsh novels or Mike Myers in 'So I Married an Axe Murderer' I suppose! :D
