Well we know what happen this week with the Togo national team as they were attacked and members of their staff were killed in the attack which is a disgrace to happen 

Well they decided to keep playing the competition despite the fact of the attack and this competition is always very entertaining and exciting football and it begins today with hosts Angola vs Mali (former Liverpool players Momo will be playing).

Great finish to the game but the game overall was very sloppy, I think 2 of the 8 goals were of decent quality, the rest of sloppy defending or pk but good start to the competition

Yes, they won the African Cup of Nations in 2008, 1-0 against Cameroon. They also won against Ivory Coast; 0-0 a.e.t. 4-2 on penalties in 2006. Egypt is also the most successful team with 6 titles.

I don't like the Egypt team. I think they are just really arrogant, especially that big sh*te of a goalkepper. Would have liked to have seen Ghana win .

I don't understand how Egypt can win this competition over and over again yet not make it to the world stage at the world cup but congrats to them, they are a very fun side to watch.

African Cup of Nations - Benin sack coach, staff and players

Benin have sacked the entire coaching and playing staff following their first-round exit from the African Cup of Nations.

The bizarre decision comes after the Squirrels finished third in Group C, behind eventual winners Egypt and semi-finalists Nigeria.

French coach Michel Dussuyer led the West African minnows to a draw against Mozambique, who they pipped to third on goal difference.

It was their joint-highest finish at the tournament, having previously qualified in 2004 and 2008 but failing to earn a point.

Their top players include Paris St Germain midfielder Stephane Sessegnon, Metz striker Razak Omotoyossi and Plymouth defender Reda Johnson.

The FA claimed a lack of patriotism and mass indiscipline led to the cull.
