Maxi, Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt.. maybe not cool that Aquilani aint starting, but those four should be able to do a fair job of disrupting Wolves! Just really hope Gerrard is right to start, and this won't prove to be too soon.

Gutted Aquilani is not playing but when has Rafa gone with what the fans want. I can see people here saying that we don't need 2 Defensive Midfielders but I think we are still fragile at the back so I'd rather have Mascherano and Lucas protect us for an hour, and then either swap one of them for Aquilani and drop Gerrard or take Gerrard off and put Aquilano on.

Good looking side for tonight though, enough quality to thump these 4 or 5 nil.

I just remembered that we payed 20 million for Aquilani and he still hasn't played 2 full matches in a row. What the F**k!?

Hope that it will be a solid 3-0 win for The Reds.

I think Rafa is been ultra cautious again and I think we may struggle to break down Wolves tonight like we did Portsmouth when he played the same midfield pairing against one of the bottom sides, hope I'm wrong it's just we have no goals or assists from our centre midfield this season, it is not good enough and if Wolves sit back we will not break them down. There is not another team in Europe that consistently plays 2 defensive midfielders.

Come on Lucas is a world class playmaker.  

Why is Aquilani not there is all I want to know.Gerrard could have played on the right as Lucas too doesn't deserve to be dropped.

Ah well, I suppose we normally moan about how sh*t our bench is.  We've got at least 4 and a half attacking players out of 6 outfielders on that bench.

Good to see Maxi and Gerrard starting. Quite surprised that Aquilani is on the bench but he will be good to have for the second half. Also, its good to see Pacheco on the bench- hopefully he'll get about 10-15mins at the end. Bit surprised to see Riera and Kyrgiakos starting- however, Kyriagkos has been on quite good form of late. Come on Redmen!!

I think Rafa is still protecting Aquillani tbh especially against the "scrappier" teams as we saw against Stoke that many players were bit over the top when tackling him. Gerrrard back into the team gives Wolves something to worry about.
I believe we will beat Wolves within the first half if this chosen team plays with the same commitment as vs Spurs...so i dont think a subs appearance for Aquillani will do him any harm.

I can't F***ING believe Aquilani is on the bench! Why not play masch, stevie and him in the middle instead of lucas?

I'm still pissed off! Why does a half-fit Gerrard get to waltz back into the team, and Aquilani after a cracking performance get dropped!!

I'm not complaining that Gerrard is back, but no player should be able to just walk back into the team. Also, Degen must be slightly pissed at getting dropped after some promising performances of late. My mind boggles.
