      Love this ending to a great, funny but ultimately sad/melancholy film. A film about many endings. Richard E Grant giving the performance of his life as Withnail giving the performance of his life. The real pity being that the only audience that saw this piece of acting were the wolves behind the fence...and Withnail's career would never get better than that as he no doubt returned to destroy himself as a drunken depressed ruin.
