      Classic.

It's the end where Stitch rattles off some of the names the Italians missed that really brings it home. Shows just how pathetic racism is. Whole film is quality and it's fantastic to see at the end where all races join together to take on the "Ducky Boys".

Great Movie , the high school at the begining is Columbus H.S. , my father went there. All those gangs really existed, except The Wanderers. The Fordham Baldies, Ducky Boys the Wong's were all real gangs. That's really what it was like in the Bronx back in the 60's.
Most of the movie was filmed in our neighborhood.
Like when they were "bumping" into the girls to cop a feel, that was on Lydig Ave. The Army recruiting shack was and still is on Fordham Rd and Webster Ave. The scene where they tied the rocks to there cocks and threw the rocks in the river , hilarious, was in NY Botanical Gardens. The bridge is still there.

I agree - one of my all time favourites films and as Dexter said reminds me of "The Warriors" another excellent film. Some brilliant characters and a brilliant ending.

Mate that is some excellent info, makes it even better to me now knowing the writers must have based it loosely on some kind of real events anyway.

Did your old man say the "The Ducky Boys" were the main gang number wise anyway...??

The Ducky Boys terrirory was in an area known as West Farms, a little south of the Fordham Baldies territoty, and were also known as the "West Farm Boys". I dont know about numbers , but they were well known and feared. Other gangs rarely fu**ed with them , especially on their own turf. It was just an area you wouldnt go into unless you were looking for trouble.

In real life there was no big rumble with all the gangs getting together to fight them, that was kinda Hollywood. But the rest of the movie was very accurate . Most of the gangs in the early 60's would generally "patrol" their own neighborhoods. There were dozens of gangs back then, and they fought with fists, chains, bats and knives and would actually make rules on which weapons were allowed at a particular rumble.

Today they just all shoot to kill, times have changed.

      "Warriors come out and plaaaaaaay"

Another great one. I think they both actually came out the same year , like 78 or 79.
I like "The Wanderers"  better, it was more about what life was like growin up back then. Not just the gangs, but even in the "bowling alley" scene and that poor suckers fingers . sh*t like that really happened.
Whereas "The Warriors" was just like one gangs trek on one particular night.

      Both quality though

Classic scene from the film that saw Marlon Brando in his first Oscar winning performance, not sure if anyone watched it - On The Waterfront.

"You don't understand! I coulda had class! I coulda been a been contender, I coulda been somebody... instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charlie."

I Could Have Been A Contender

Brilliant scene, Robert DeNiro also say those lines in The Ragging Bull.
