Valentines Day....

Worth it or a rip off?

I think its a rip-off,  ie. the price of flowers etc  but its nice to think that someone is thinking about you in that special way.

Pity I won't get one this year

Complete massive rip-off.  I treat my girlfriends like every day is Valentine's Day...probably why I don't have one right now.

Still its nice to walk down the stairs on Valentine's Day morning to the postman at the door because he can't fit all my cards through the letter box.

I saw young men, old men, Dads  all buying flowers and Chocolates for the love of their life today in Sainsbury's today, I spotted a very young lad at the check out with a beautiful single red rose, aww, it's nice to know Romance is alive and well.

Getting too commercialised now though just like Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Grandparents Day etc etc etc, anything to get money out of the consumer.... cynical, me, nah !

For the 20th time in my life, I'm not celebrating it.

I suppose it's a rip off and for some people (a lot of my friends) a let down as there expectations are far too high. One of my mates rang me very pissed off last year as she thought her boyfriend had planned a surprise trip away for both of them, when infact he just brought her out for a meal. Which I'd be more than happy with but it just wasn't good enough for her.     It should be kept as simple as possible IMO. Still, I wouldn't say no to some expensive diamonds

Taking the missus out for a fancy meal tomorrow night. That's all I got planned.

It's a load of rubbish IMO, the prices of everything double, and if you love someone you should show them all year, not just one day!

Yeh Though she isn't 18 until nearer the summer which sucks, though means can still have a look when out

Every year the wife gets the same thing, a dozzen red roses, a bottle of champagne, box of chocolates and some fresh strawberry's and cream.
