This weekend will be crucial.   If Bolton can park the bus and restrict Tottenham to a point, and Villa and City draw, plus we beat Chelsea, then it is certainly on.  But if just one of those 3 doesn't happen, it looks very unlikely when you look at the run-in after.

All we should do is put everything into winning our games, thats all that matters now, and lets see how it ends up. Its possible though , no matter how unlikely. Ive watched Liverpool for too many years to just give up, strange things can happen in this game. Even if it does not go our way we wil be back . Can anyone see City, Spurs or Villa having the nous to hold their own at this level for long? And as far as the C.L goes.. no chance.

Man city can, their the richest club in the world. If they can offer players champions league football then everybodys in sh*t, including chelsea and man u. They will do exactly what chelsea did only a few years ago.

Villa always seem to run out of steam towards the end of the season. They had a great start last year too but bottled it after 32-33 games. They will always be around 5th-7th in the league unless they spend massively.

Spurs are a very good side and their almost as good as us i feel. If they can offer champions league football to players then they may make some great signings in the summer. I cant imagine liverpool competing much in the market so spurs might leap frog us and begin to dominate 3rd-4th positions.

      I love your optimism!

Personally if we dont manage 4th place- Whoever does, is only having it for one season!!
I dont think a club (regardless of money) can sign decent players in their first year of champions league football- i think a player needs more assurance that this will happen for many years to come- and not just because Liverpool had a bad season!

No chance of it happening now.

      It'll be 6/7th.

If we don't win against Chelsea, hopefully Villa will F**k up in their last games too.

If spurs draw with city and they both lose the last game spurs finish on 68 a target we reach with 2 wins. And our goal difference is better

Wouldnt bet on it but officially we still can

It's not over yet, if Spurs draw with City, that would put Spurs on 68 and City on 67 and we need them both to lose their last games. Villa's result doesn't matter anymore as long as we win both our games.

Spurs play Burnley on the last day but remember Man United lost at Turf Moor earlier in the season!

Adyran do you honestly think Spurs are not going to beat an absolute woeful Burnley side, a side all ready relegated with F**k all to play for. Spurs will trouce them.

Well, obviously I'd expect Spurs to thump Burnley but I'm not ruling out the fact that Burnley can get something. It's obviously highly unlikely but I've seen weirder outcomes in football.

They may be already relegated but I'm sure they would want to give their fans something cheer about in their last Premier League match. Depends on the mind set of the players but of course, I still think Spurs are too strong for Burnley.

Well, being optismistic is something good considering the season we've had, ;D. I am just saying it's possible but I never said we will get 4th :P

The optimism expressed here merely ignorance.  Nothing more. Like 1 man armed with a spear expecting to somehow beat an army with guns... oh, there's a slim chance!

Come on. Please accept it finally.  It's so boring to hear excuses now.  It's the same ignorance (sorry, 'optimism' expressed over Rafa.)
