      Hard-Drive Help.
      Feb 22, 2010 04:55:59 pm
Basically I am getting a new Laptop for work because the one I have is up the creek with the screen and everything due to it being flung about in the car and everything over the last couple of years.

Is it possible to get the hard-drive I currently have into the new laptop? I don't really want have to start trying to save files on to disc or whatever and get them onto a new hard-drive because I can't risk losing anything.

Get a back up hard drive, store it all on that, then transfer it onto the new laptop?

You can get a 1 terabyte external hard drive for about 65 quid, that's more than enough memory to store all of that adult material. :)

Funny enough I was just looking on this board for a Hard Drive related query.

Portable 500Gb External Hard Drive - £65 on Amazon.

The 1Tb ones usually need some sort of power supply. I'm getting the one above to keep all my music, photos and hardcore adult viewing treasure films on, without having to use a power supply. Much better and portable.

      Hope that's helpful mate.

Why don't you just get one of these and convert your old laptop drive in to an external usb drive? Only about a fiver.

      http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-5-HDD-USB-2-0-SATA-EXTERNAL-HARD-DRIVE-CASE-BLACK_W0QQitemZ250585265546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Collectables_HardDriveEnclosures_RL?hash=item3a580bb58a#ht_4441wt_983

I got one of these when I replaced my PS3 hard drive (which is the same size as a laptop hard drive).

If your going from Laptop to Laptop you can get a crossover cable and transfer directly to the new laptop from the old.  Their are loads of programs online which will help you transfer the data.

Best bet is to get an external drive and transfer the data. Play it safe .
