Raheem Sterling (Liverpool > Man City)
      Mar 13, 2010 09:43:00 pm
Thought he looked very decent in his Academy debut thought maybe he could have his own player thread.

Looks a bit on the short speed, but he looks to have a good touch and dynamite speed.

      Good luck Raheem! :)

He looks promising. Raw talent, but I think he could have a bright future with us.

Time will tell how good this lad is. Though from what I've seen he is defiantly going in the right direction. Would be nice to have a player come through the ranks that could walk straight into the team simlar to what Gerrard and Fowler did.

Doesn't have a footballing name does he? Well that doesn't have anything to do with it. Hopefully he's not just seen as promising, hopefully he produces.

Too early to see whether he'll be a success here. Christopher Buchtmann was touted as a very good player as well, top 10 players in UEFA U17 tourny but look, he's already been shipped out to Fulham.

15 years of age is a crucial phrase in his first team development. Good start for him and looking for him to stay on his feet and keep going.

The sky sports scout thing is covering him this week on the website, tells us a bit about him and gives him an overall rating.

      http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/scout

Gave him an overall rating of 57/80 and said he's a similar player to the likes of Lennon and Walcott.

He's another Barnes it would seem, Jamaican born but has pledge to England.

I'm going to be keeping my eyes on him.

This is taken from March; not sure what he's done since, but for 15 he looks good

Good player. Has pace, confidence and like a cheeky chip over. Getting 50/50 games with Silva at the moment.

      He has pace to burn.
Saying that feels like an understatement, honestly can't remember seeing a player that fast.

Looks like a player with pace but not enough to judge on his final balls yet.

      I agree.
But from the video, unlike say Walcott, he seems to have a control over it.
Anyway - looks a real prospect.
Hopefully he'll develop well for us.
(I was looking at his facebook page. Seems he comes from a religious family, who will hopefully keep his head on the ground. I mean, can you imagine going to school[he's only 15] having just signed for Liverpool for £1M+!!)

Looks good, I like the look of a player who has that pace and looks like he wants to take players on. Some kids have the speed but only want to get in to space. He looked to slow it down, get the player on his back foot, and blow past him again. He looks like a Lennon type, which has been missing from the squad for a long long time.
