We were again poor, once we had our golden period we went backwards, yet for the first 15 to 20 mins we played really well, then it happened again, we sat back and invited them on, a better team would have punished us, if Rafa told Lucas to get back with Mascha Rafa did wrong, Lucas looked a threat when he got forward, so for fucks sake Rafa let them play. We were decent in the chances we created and compared to Lille we were better in front of goal, but their football was much better than ours and that disappointed me.

We had 23 attempts at goal in contrast to their 3?! We were brilliant and organised in defense and Lille never looked like a serious threat barring that chance by Hazard.

I am not going to be blinded and throw my red tinted glasses on but it is quite evident to me that this has been an improved performance on what we have seen the last few weeks. Yes it is far from brilliant but also far from dissapointing.

We dominated them. They didn't play anything that at all that made me scared.

I think Bartman has a point why not go for the jugular once we are 2-1 up rather tahn invite them to attack us and then rely on Carra and Co to hoof the ball away.
There again they were probably showing the effects of playing so many games in a short period so understandable.

Great result tonight and a performance to match the one on Monday night, especially considering the opposition were much better.  Very impressed with Lucas' first half performance and of course, Torres showing what we've missed for most of the season.  Just superb.

Why would we throw the kitchen sink at them and risk being caught out on the counter by a team with pace when the result we had was enough. Besides we had them under control and they never looked a threat.

I think some people are just a bit green with the fact we won 3-0 with Kuyt and Lucas in the side and with the latter having a blinder.

We made a very good counter-attacking side ineffective(apart from the Hazard run into the box).For me,Lucas manned-up tonight,his drag back was superb to get the penalty, and ffs Pepe is now even saving them with his head.Not the best this season but with the available players,good enough.Bring on Seville in the quarter's and Atletico in the semi's.
