Get Finnan Back At Anfield

Now I know we're on a strict limited budget (I wonder who's fault that is) but surely with Portsmouth being allowed to sell players outside the transfer window, surely we could get Steve Finnan back at Anfield on the cheap. Even if we sold Aurelio for around £6 million as I think he'd be better sold than sitting in the physio's room, we could find the funds to bring back Steve and find the answer to our left-back problem. Only problem would be he would only be able to play next season due to FA rules.

Anyone else think this?

Finnan was sold for a reason- he herdly went on to bigger and better things!

Xabi Alonso
John arne Riise

From that squad only player i would get is:

He did well while he was at the club but thats looking to the past. This club needs to move forward and getting Finnan back isn't only a step back, its a massive leap back.

I would love to ave dalgleish,hansen,kennedy,keegan,fairclough,neal etc,etc back at the club but it aint gonna happen,rush and fowler were the exceptions,i think we need to move on from former players of past and look to the future.
Oh by the way i would not take xabi alonso back.

I always liked him for us but i haven't heard anything about him in the past few years.
Plus he hasn't done anything good enough to play for a better side than Portsmouth recently so i can't really assume that he's been impressive of late.

Aurelio is a better left-back. Just injury prone. Like I keep saying - we need to get a first team regular left back in the summer.

Cos just like Dossena, he was great going forward, but couldn't actually defend and was so one-footed it was untrue, THE only thing he did with his right foot was score at the nou camp. Still wasn't a great left-back.

Was nothing to do with the bust-up with Carra, Arbeloa wanted to leave before last season, Rafa talked him into staying an extra season.

I know. When you talk about bringing players back in it's always hard because they obviously left with the intention of improving their career so it's hard for them to think about coming back, whoever it is.
