Liked the Gerry Anderson stuff when I was a kid. First of all it was Thunderbirds, then UFO.
I used to get up earlier on a Saturday to watch TV than during the week to go to school - and see the old black and white shows like Champion The Wonder Horse and Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon, featuring Larry "Buster" Crabbe, before Swap Shop started.
Anyone remember Elephant Boy?
I was in the studio audience once for Runaround, hosted by the late Mike "Paaaaaat!" Reid, which I also watched. I knew the boy who won it that time. He grew up to get done for living off immoral earnings. :
The special TV moments were when you could stay up with "the adults". For me, the old man would happily let me watch Parkinson, especially when The Big Yin, or Mohammed Ali was on it.
