Just read through your thread again Ayrton as I thought 'christ thats a F***ing big house' Didn't realise there a set of two !
I've read the thread about there been a space between the two houses, it's hard to  see it in the final pic and the roof gives the impression of it being a semi-detached how is it distinguished in France from a seperately built property.

By the way the speed with which the build has been completed has amazed me it really does put British builds to shame !

It is technically a semi-detached I suppose, as the roof joins both houses together.

The space between both houses is very small, just a couple of centimetres, but with two seperate walls we're hoping it'll be pretty much noise-proof.

As for the last part of your post, I have no idea! :D

I might not be getting into many threads but this one I won't miss!

      It's looking BOSS Ayrton!! :)

Cheers fella, good to know you're still around! ;)

Forgot to mention, we've finished the undercoat in the entire house now.

We're getting ceilings and certain walls finished completely with the final white coat, then we can get onto actual COLOURS, so we might actually feel like we're getting somewhere!

We still have no stairs, so I was up on the ladder last weekend doing the walls and ceiling where they will be. I have to admit I was shitting my load at the top of the ladder about 5 metres up! :D It was odd looking DOWN to watch people painting the second floor walls, I'm really glad that's finished!

We have had some delays with the electricity unfortunately, so the move will be put back about a month, we're looking at mid-December now. A bit gutted, but it's nice to have some more breathing room to get everything done.

The exterior of the house is finished!  :D Get a load of this:

And the inside is coming along nicely as well.

We've been planning our kitchen on the IKEA website, we have a budget of around 4,000€, with a divide of approximately 2,500€ for the kitchen itself, and a further 1,500€ to replace our old oven and fridge, and to buy an induction cooktop and extractor hood.

This is pretty much the final design:

The actual kitchen looks like this so far, as we painted it yesterday:

And finally, we have stairs! :D

      Thanks guys.

Everything's going very quickly now. We've painted the bathroom, so it's totally finished. We've started painting the boy's rooms, which will be wallpapered tomorrow I think.

Living room needs finishing, as the wall leading into the kitchen will be a pale grey. The ceiling looks like it needs a dab of extra paint here and there as well.(FFS! :D)

And the kitchen plan has been revised a bit.

We've changed the right side a bit, removing a tall cupboard (where the oven was going to be installed), meaning we gain plenty of surface for cooking and even gain storage space due to the extra cupboards on the wall. Looks more symettrical as well! ;)

What's good on this version is we see the bar between the kitchen and living room. Class! 8)

The oven is on the right, you can see it peeping out from under the bar.

The hood will be in the same place, but it isn't shown on this mock-up, since we're not buying it from IKEA.

As for under the bar, were probably going to put some more storage units, drawers, etc.

It's actually quite hard work to plan, when you get into the small details!

thought it looked like a cooker but was thrown by the missing hood ! I know what you meem about details I've fitted kitchens to all the houses I've owned but as we're renting in Luxembourg I don't need to (our current kitchen is 6 months old and is a cracker for a rental its all been fiteed by seimens and has all built in appliences and 'sofdt closing drawers !.

we're ONLY 10 minutes away from our local Ikea, even though its in Belgium! we're there again tomorrow to fit out the last bedroom before our visitors come at the beginning of next month !.

You'll definately be in before Christmas then ?

      99% sure.

A tiny doubt with the electricity, but I'm certain we'll be plugged in by the end of this month.

Been busy these last few days, mainly on the upstairs of the house.

Very pleased to say we've put up the wallpaper in the boy's bedrooms, a friend of mine is quite handy at it and he was a huge help, I don't think we could have managed to do it nearly as well without him.

      So, here's Noah's room (he's 6 1/2), before:

      And after:

      And Liam's room (he's 4 1/2), before:

      And after:

Mila's room (three walls are pink, one is green but we didn't have time to take a photo this afternoon):

      And the bathroom:
