After doing some research I dont think it will be Eto, AC Milan have put in a bid or will be bidding evidently, the only other choice would be Tevez, if we cant get either then all this stalling and slow reactions of transfers will cost us yet again. I have a feeling it will be Tevez because of the Spainish connection he doesnt speak great English and does seem to like the English game, I for one cant wait to see if he does come it would surely be a great signing.

I don't think reading the newspapers qualifies as research vydex ;)

vydex just cause Ac want to bid for Eto does that mean he won't come?
So that means Tevez won't come cause Madrid plus Chelsea will bid
Alvez won't join either cause Madrid and Chelsea will bid
Malouda cause chelsea will certainly bid(as they seem to bid for all our targets)
      Villa yet again chelsea

Just a thought it's certainly up to the player if he wants to go or not isn't it???
And most of the players linked with us will be looked at by other clubs as well only time will tell if no signings have been made a week or two after la liga has ended i'll be panicking and really be worried right now it's a waiting game cause most of our targets play there.

I beg to differ, I dont read British papers as they are full of sh*t, especially the s*n which I hate with a passion for more than one reason. I read most of the foriegn press, google is my friend and also read other forums and posts in those forums. This by interpretation is in fact research ask any of my university lecturers, especially those who tutor media studies.

Now back to the case in point I think it will be Tevez, and I tell you another thing I will jump for joy if it is. I agree with Terry_anthony masca and Tevez together would be awesome, creating an awe inspiring lineup.

Ok then if you have researched this so well could you provide a link to the articles that prove that Eto'o won't be coming to anfield and Tevez will.

As I said in my first post the Liverpool Echo thought the player in question was Malouda, but todays news that Arsenal are interested in signing him and may pay the £10m asking price looks bad news indeed, are we really going to lose out on another player because we wont pay £2m more?

      Todays Liverpool Daily Post

Lyon to wait on Malouda transfer
      Jun 7 2007
by Nick Smith, Liverpool Daily Post

LYON are set to stall on their sale of Florent Malouda to Liverpool after Arsenal emerged as another interested Premiership party. The midfielder, who has previously revealed he would consider a move to London, is rated at £10million by the French champions while Liverpool want to complete a deal for £8m.However, with Arsenal thinking about entering the bidding, Lyon could hold out for a better deal on the player they have under contract until 2011.Malouda himself confirmed last week that Liverpool had been in touch with the club but was waiting for a formal offer, which is yet to emerge.

Read this worrying piece from the Independent,it may have stalled over personal terms!!!

Well everyone from the Postman to next doors cat has seen him at Anfield and as JD said the likes of William Hill have brought the odds in from 10/1 to 3/1, so either a lot of people are convinced he is coming or they are the same people who started the rumours that Rafa was leaving on Monday and they just like giving money away.
Either way there is a topic discussing the possibilities of us signing Henry in the transfer speculation thread so a lot of people think it could happen.

I'm hearing from people with links to the journalism industry that there will be a press conference at Melwood 3pm today, maybe it's just about the new contracts, or maybe all will be revealed.

we need to get moving now before we miss out on our main targets surely we wont be the only ones wanting the players who are going to make a difference to the team.we have a really good foundation, great defense, solid in the centre of middle of midfield, two wingers and tevez who is a great player better than eto and villa who would also be cheaper and is younger and we would be sorted for next season, act swiftly please

Eddie c in think you post some great point but you never seem to want to believe any one else.

I have added some interesting point and you refuse to pick up on them , take the French winger ( misplaced spelling with his name ) is it Maluoda.  he is a great player and yes we all know what he can do.

But so far and from what i hear his attitude is not that great. his comments the other day with his love for drogba and then the comment he made regards Rafa. yes he is torn between liverpool and that casino football club they call Chelsea.

I don't want any player who can decide its us or them, he doesn't strike me too have a real great team attitude and personally i would rather have another option and all the talk of Maluoda coming cheap at 8 mill or 10 mill its not hes being sold for there or there abouts up to the 12 - 13 mill mark.

he is fast tricky and good at dead ball situations but is he the right mentality for us?.

not every thing is rosy at liverpool at the moment and that is clear to us all. signing good players is a big problem for LFC at the present time,  we are not even out to get a old target L.Guily from barca,,, he is a cheaper option and a good pro with tons of experience i am just so lost in the crap about transfers news and empty news

It's not ignoring other poeples points Sam, I genuinely didn't know what you meant by that last post as all you put was 'can we not get carried away with this French chap please'

Now that you've explained what you meant, I would agree that Malouda's attitude doesn't seem to be the best. In the thread in transfer speculation I said that his comments of 'to move abroad I have to really be wanted' translated to 'Show me the money!'. However, unfortunate as it is, a lot of the top players have that mentality these days & I don't see it as a reaon for a player not to join us. Mercenary's are part & parcel of the game now, and as far as I'm concerned as long as a player can do a good job for us & not upset the rest of the squad then I don't care if he's just here for the money.

I would still disagree with the statement that not everything's rosy at Liverpool at the moment. I'm not saying everything definately is going to be alright, unfortunately Rafa doesn't keep me in the loop, just that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes & nothing's gone wrong so far. Until we actually start losing out on our targets to other clubs, I won't be getting too concerned. Maybe I'm just an optimist, but I don't think all the panic is called for yet.
