I agree, would like to add that those who are saying that penalties that were given were not justified need to have a good look at themselves. Carra and insua let us down with the decision that they made.

Even though the ref was a c**t, I still think we could have done better in that first half. There was a distinct lack of effort from us and I don't think our traveling support deserved that. We didn't have to go all kitchen sink but some graft from our captain, in the middle and with either full back would have been beneficial for us.

When it was 11 vs 11, we were very lively, scored a great goal and were dangerous, but yet were sloppy in defence. But it all changed after Babel’s red, and we spent the remaining 55 mins under serious pressure. Even after that, it took two penalties to beat us.
Bottom line is that a 1 goal deficit with an away goal is more than retrievable at Anfield.
And if the next ref is as much a homer as this lad, we’ll batter them.
Kudos to the travelling Kop, who ended the match as they started it, with YNWA and scarves aloft.

Justified in an evenly and consistently referee'd match, yes. In this match, no. We had a penalty turned down, and a bunch of tackles not called or penalized with cards. So they should not have received two penalties. Simple. There has to be consistency, and tonight the referee had about as much consistency as Tiger Woods picking women.
