      Aintree 2010

Only a week away now till the big day. It's one of those days in the sporting calendar that I look forward to, the National is always a big buzz.

Couple of days yet till the official list of runners comes out but judging by the National's website, the favourites are Big Fella Thanks (10/1) and Mon Mome (13/1). If you're looking for a placed finish, then Comply Or Die at 25/1 is the best bet in my opinion. Won the race in 08 and runner up in 09, so obviously knows the course and likes it.

We having another sweepstake so AussieRed can defend his title

Good idea DLS, I'd be up for a sweepstake, I think RedKenny did it last year, maybe when he's back from his little trip he'll do another one for this year.

Anyone going? Or got any tips?

I'm looking forward to seeing all the lovely ladies going down the road on Friday.  ;)

It all kicks off tomorrow - so there could be a few drunk suited up people at Anfield tomorrow night.

Kenny, are we going to have a sweepstake like we did last year? I know DLS mentioned it on another thread.

One of the fellas in work states Cloudy Lane is a good outside bet, each way.

Also if declared, Fiddlers Cross I think its called.  Had a stormer at Cheltenham, came in 7/1.  I had £2.00 on it (last of the big spenders  :lmao:) Anyway, he knows someone that works at the stables and Cloudy Lane is from the same place and is looking good from what they are saying.  Anyway, I'll put my obligatory £2.00 on both of those horses  ;D

I'm up for the sweep as well folks  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

I'm up for a sweep too (yes I am legally old enough to gamble ;))

Whenever my brother and cousin put money on a horse they seem to win, so if I fancy a cheeky bet I'll be asking them! ;)

Researching this to see who i should money on. Not half confusing, is it?! Why can't they just pick horses to run and that's that? What's the deal with that?

Put $10 on Barizan in race 2. About an hour to jump.

      $6.50 for the win.

Vic Venturi will have a jockey change for the big one tomorrow due to P Flood injuring his shoulder in a fall today.

      bring on the sweep stake

I had a hour to kill before the match, so I popped in the bookies and had £5 each way on Black Jack Blues just got beat into second  place at 14-1 still got £22.50 back for a tenner. :)
