The 16-year-old goalkeeper will join the Academy until 2012 and is set to sign a professional contract on his 17th birthday.

The move follows a period training with the Reds earlier this season, after which Stephens said: "The Academy is unbelievable. They have so many staff, everyone is so polite, and kind, it's really friendly, like a family club."

Seem to be getting a lot of youngsters lately.  Hopefully at least some will mature into good players.

honest to goodness, how many goalkeepers do we need, considering Pepe will hopefully be between the sticks for the next 10 years? (cant be bothered researching, but there must be at least 7 the club) - however, as always, good luck to the fellow

Good luck Jamie and welcome to Anfield. By my calculations, you should take over the reins from Pepe when you're 26-28. Patience is a virtue young man.  ;D
