What disturbed me the most about that article was H&G putting Martin Broughton in as temp Chairman to oversee the process.  H&G hire a huge Chelsea supporter to oversee the interests of LFC?  Great I feel safer already thanks H&G

Read some of the earlier posts about him being a Chelsea fan. He has season tickets but that doesn't mean he is a die hard supporter, he prolly just has the money. His reputation is on the line and I doubt he is willing to risk to screw a well known football club, which would give him bad rep and press.

      Precisely, as I said earlier.

I'm expecting to see a difference in the players attitude on Monday if there's been any announcements this week.
Yeah, they'll be thinking 'sh*t, now Rafa might be able to afford to replace me, I'd better start playing!'

Bloody hell. Sky Sports are all over a possible Red Knights bid for the Mancs, yet there isn't a shred of info about our current situation on their site.
Just SKY pandering to the mancs in case they feel left out because the "greatest club in the world" is not getting a F***ing look in either in the way of trophies or possible takeovers, something to do with their massive unmentionable debt and unbalanced manager.
It's not even a bid! They're in the early stages of looking for potential investors so it's not as advanced as our situation.

Can anyone tell me if amanda staveley is part of the barclays investment arm?

Not exactly part of it mate but she does have very good connections with them.  It was her who got the Quatari Royal family to bail them out after refinancing some Dubai deals, they now own approx 19% of Barclays, she was also involved in both DIC bids for us and also put together the buyout of City.

She is also a personal friend of Braughton our new chairman (when announced).  She's reportedly worth around £100m after being paid for the above deals.  I think it's fair to say we can expect some interest from the middle east once everything has been put in place.

Being that amanda staveley is somewhere involved with barclays then it only bodes well for us and as reddebs mentioned an investor from the middle east is likely.
Doubt DIC would be the answer maybe kuwaitis or qataris even possible saudis.Money to burn,as to note the arabs love competing with themselves in projects so man city will soon have competition.

Jesus she's done well, years ago she started off answering the phone for Sheik Mohammed in Dubai and look at her now - sitting on a fortune.
