      American Psycho

Anyone ever watched this? It's a good film but the ending confused the hell out of me! So can anyone explain it?

Opening scene to the film for those of you who haven't seen it:

Brillant film, but the book is far better

Book is FAR better mate, goes into much more detail about how he looks like others and all that. And lives up to the 'psyco' aspect a whole lot more.

Agree with the above - the book is much better. As for the ending: his psycho character was all in his mind. The killings were his fantasies. I think.

The character of Bateman had to killed off by Ellis in an unpublished book, such was the extent of the nightmares Bateman gave the author

Well I've now got the book, so will read it soon! Also, Bateman is now my avatar....unhealthy obsession!

Film is good, book is excellent!

Book goes into far more detail and depth of his other fantasy side.

      Bale plays it superbly  >:D

Yeah the book is good, but the detail he goes into about fashion really annoyed me, like every time any character is mentioned Ellis lists the designers of each ite, which makes a point but then gets hammered in a bit too much I thought.

Rules of Attraction is good too, pne of the main characters Sean is Patrick Bateman's little brother.

But thats the point! His 'hammering' of the detail is a POV therefore you realise the materiality of the character and his coldness to his fellow man, especially women.
Its the tone and patter of the text that is the beauty within the hideousness of the context.
Its only after a 2nd read that i got it and also the humour of the book.
