Reading some of the timetables on the whole thing and for these three months we will have TWO stadiums.

How weird is that gonna be? Walking past a deserted Anfield to get to ... Anfield.  :'(

That'll bring a lump to the back of your throat if nothing else does!  :( It's like saying goodbye to someone you'll never see again and then they just stay there saying nothing for a few months!

What are their plans with Anfield? Is it to be knocked down??

We could use Anfield as our reserve stadium, youth, etc...

How weird does it sound now. 2009....

To think some people have the cheek to say we have to accept the owners and we have to just get on with it.

Yeah, what are they gonna do about the current Anfield? Surely not a 'Highbury', digging out parts for auction!!

Highbury is a listed building, grade 2 I think. Anfield is not and to be honest nothing to look at from the out side. I guess it will be knocked down. Unlike the Old kop with was cut up in to little pieces and sold. Which I have a piece, and by the size of ot so do trilions of others. But worth it.

Anfield is an awesome stadium.  I got to go there this past fall (Coming from Canada).  My wife and I did that stadium tour and and you can really feel the history, and see character it has.  Reminded me a bit of Fenway or Wrigley field in the US.  The building itself told the story.  All we have around here is large chunks of concrete and fieldturf.  New stadiums are just to sterile for my liking.

This topic started some time back. I suppose the issue of having 2 stadiums is no longer there? Now that the new designed Stanley Park one will be ready a lil later... ??

Anfield will be knocked down, there are going to be shops, hotel and houses build on the site, and about £20mill spent on doing the area up, lets face it, It does need it, with Liverpool FC buying all the houses around the ground, then just boarding them up, it looks like a right eyeshore.

Money also is going onto Stanley park, to do that up.

We get a new bigger ground, and the whole area gets a face lift, cant be bad.  ;D

Are they really knocking Anfield down? It has so much history. Does anyone know when the lads will start to play in the new stadium- like which season?

To just knock it down to build a few houses is a waste as there could be 101 thing's the stadium can be used for and for the local community to benefit from so I hope they (the council) think long term and what will benefit all.
