Jack Hobbs - the red that got away?
      Apr 28, 2010 01:07:41 am
Always felt like it was a mistake letting this lad go.

Foxes defender Jack Hobbs has picked up a prestigious double at the Leicester City Player of the Year Awards evening.

Hobbs, 21, won the Player of the Year award, voted for by the club's supporters, and shared the Player's Player award with Welsh international midfielder Andy King.

Former Liverpool centre back Hobbs has been in fantastic form for City this year alongside Wayne Brown at the heart of the Foxes' defence and has only missed two league games this term.

It has been quite a couple of seasons for Hobbs at the Walkers Stadium as this double follows up winning the club's Young Player of the Year last season and being included in the League One team of the year.

He spent last season on loan at Leicester helping them get promoted to the Championship before signing for them last year.

Leicester are currently 5th in the Championship and heading for the Premier League play-offs.

Hobbs, as a central defender, has only been booked once this season for them.

He did play for us back in 2007/2008 against Porstmouth, didn't he?

Thought he'd make a good CB cover.

Thought he was a decent young player myself as well. Well done to the guy anyways!

Well done Jack the lad  ;)

Always had high hopes for him, pity it's not in the Red of Liverpool.

Well done to him though, may be up against Nando next season, we'll see how good he is then  ;)

Played against Reading too I think.

Was a shame to see him go, always thought he would be one to push on and become a regular in the team. Glad he is having such a good season. Hopefully there is a buy back clause should he keep getting better.

      Ayala will have him ;)

Disappointment aside, well done to him. Always a great player inside him and this is just one small step towards achieving that.

In fairness to Rafa he had Carra Skrtel Agger and at the time Sami ahead of him in the q. As it turns out he might have played quite a bit this season but he might have had too much pressure to reach the level he has in the championship

Yes one that got away its happenned before and will happen again

Delighted he is doing well for himself. He is obviously a very talented player. Its interesting, we could do with him at the minute but thats football. Good luck Jack. Keep up the good work.
