He's not and he never has been. He and we have been blagging the EFL cup for a few seasons with him there but if it carries on it will cost us more games yet. Klavan had to play yesterday because this isn't the League Cup, these aren't second string championship clubs he's facing now.

If Klavan cant be trusted over Lucas then he has been a dreadful purchase no matter how little we spent on him because that was the managers decision to do that.

If we are selling Sakho and not looking to bring anyone in on the basis that Lucas can do a job there if theres an injury then call the season off now.

In the EFL cup the only scenario where I can see us not qualifying for the final is if Lucas and/or Moreno plays again at the back.

Hope the City game wasn't his last appearance for us .

Experience helped steer us through tonight. The old timer got the legs going and was positively speeding when he nodded in the goal Delighted for him to have gotten it.  Was calm on the ball and won most of what he went for.  Gets his fair share of criticism for being past it, but against Plymouth tonight showed that even though carrying more years than most, a bit of class can go a long way.

Great to see him get a goal eventually after what seems like decades!

Whatever you think of Lucas it was his goal (it was a cracker) that got us through to the next round.

Well in Lucas, fantastic header that mate, loved that the commentators said a touch earlier that we don't offer much threat from the air and that Lucas is hardly a great header of the ball. I believe if Lucas was asked to be in the box more often he would score more goals from set-pieces, always been very good in the air in my opinion.

His interview afterwards was hilarious, pure class as ever.

For a relatively small bloke, he wins more than his fair share of headers.

I was thinking that commentator had obviously not seen much of him, and just decided he's sh*t in the air because he's shortish.
Whatever he was thinking, he got it badly wrong, and I couldn't help but have a good laugh at the idiot.

I was trying to figure out who gave away that free kick in the first minute. Now that you have told me it was Lucas, I'm not really surprised.

An awful player who is at the root of all our problems. Having been indulged for years when he is average at best.

I actually didn't think he played that bad today considering he's not a CB. Matip is a CB and he really wasn't much better.

He hasn't really played that bad when called upon, but when we lose and he plays, people just seem to slaughter him.

Off topic, it seems as if he lost his Grandfather today.
