Definitely would have liked us to have kept him in the summer.

      Hahaha!! Amazing!!!

I read that Lazio fans have really taken to Lucas, and a lot of them are comparing him to Almeyda. They seem to really appreciate him!

I don't think he was ever as bad as some suggested when he played DM for us under Klopp, and nor was he that bad at CB. There was no doubt we were defensively more solid and better in possession (rotating the ball) with Lucas playing.

Problem was, he found it difficult to get a run of game due to him not being as durable as our other midfielders, and I could understand selling him (but did not understand why he wasn't replaced).

Lazio fans love him, and their chairman (I think) said he was his best signing ever (maybe because the quality he shows is far beyond a 5m player?) or something. And as mentioned, they see him as their Almeyda but with better passing abilities... oh, and he has 4 goals and 6 assists or something from DM position!

Edit: Another thing I want to point out, Lucas is one of the best aerially, imagine having a midfielder like that vs big targets, I bet he would have stifled Benteke and Lukaku with ease during those assisted key headers they made.

Liverpool will use Lazio's training ground before and after their Champions League game against Roma thanks to an intervention from Lucas Leiva, according to Sky in Italy.

The former Liverpool midfielder is now at Lazio, and acted as an 'intermediary' to make the agreement possible.

Jürgen Klopp's side will complete a light training session at Formello, Lazio's training base, before the game on Wednesday, and another light session following the match on Thursday.

Some people always have to find a scapegoat or a target, completely ignoring the fact that it's a team game.

Lucas was another one where people just didn't understand (or willfully ignored) what he did.
Far easier just to slate a player.

An excellent footballer, and a top bloke is Lucas.
Really glad it's going well for him.

I was frankly astonished to see him as their POTY. They have Immobile who I think was one of the top scorers in Europe last season. Got to show the love and respect he is receiving at Lazio. Fully deserved by the lad, He put in some great efforts for us during his time here and he got his reward at last.

      Why astonished mate?
The Italians love a good player who is adept on the ball, and gives everything on the pitch.

If not for the knee injury, he would have probably stayed, but losing that bit of pace when he wasn't the quickest to begin with probably did for him.

Oh I loved Lucas as much as the next fella. I also kept a track of him during his first year there where he played well. Last season I did not watch many Lazio games and only heard about Immobile and Luis Alberto. That's why I was little surprised that he is still playing at the highest level. But guess I was completely wrong there.

      Fair enough mate.

How is Luis Alberto doing there?
A fine player who was not really suited to the prem I always thought.

He had a fine year last season with 25 goals and assists combined. What I understand is this year he is not having a good season and the fans have already turned against him due to his laziness
