Cable Help (Jack to RCA)
May 03, 2010 05:17:12 pm
Just managed to put back together a Hi-Fi stereo that was up in the loft for a long while.
Works perfectly fine - it always did - it's a decent stereo, it was just never used.
Want to play my iPod through it though. There are the slots in the back that would allow for this, however I don't have the required cable at the moment.
Been looking on Amazon, but I can't decide whether to get a cheap one or pay a bit more. Would the sound difference be very noticeable?
For example:
I could get a Belkin one for around £5
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-3-5mm-RCA-Audio-Adapter/dp/B000CI4VJQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=diy&qid=1272898996&sr=8-3
Or I could get one for £1.50
http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Phono-Stereo-Audio-Cable/dp/B000Q6LSVS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1272898996&sr=8-2
Anybody knowledgeable in this area? Would be able to tell me which I should go for?

Try Solent Cables. They can often make up cables and are way cheaper than the usual retail outlets. I have bought a few different types and they are good.
They seem to know what they are talking about too

Thanks for the reply mate.
Went out today though to Comet and got a Philips one. Fantastic quality.

Should have got one of these (saw one for £6 somewhere).
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Player-Video-Shuffle-Styles/dp/B000ILZ77M
Gives you the option of watching video on your TV as well as the old audio thing.
