      He's a true #10. Don't think we have a spot for him.

Prefer to see Gerrard next to Masch if we are not buying another midfielder so this lad would be perfect behind the striker.

If Gerrard is put back next to Masch, I think it's Aquilani's spot behind the striker.

Suppose, but there's nothing wrong with putting Gerrard in a deeper role.

Nothing wrong with having the options either.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love if we could sign him up. Just don't think in our situation, or his that Liverpool would be the right club for him. We need to spend in other places, IMO.

      Top player Ozil is though.

Can he not play wing as well? We do need to spend there....

I'd rather spend on a true winger. He can move outside, and he's talented enough to do the job but someone like Arda Turan who is naturally a winger, would fit us better. We have enough players playing outside that are inside players.

Agreed! Would give my left nut to get Turan here anyway.

I agree with both of you :D

Turan is the player I'm most excited about being linked with, and I agree that if we're going to spend 'big' (relatively..) then the money should go to a top class right winger. Ozil seems a good player from what I've heard, but if he mainly plays central we've already got Aquilani and Gerrard to fill that position.

Even if we did get him, who says he would be good? Voronin was one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga but look what he did for us

I wouldn't say he was. Just happened to be free.

Ozil is a completely different ball game.

I've said it before, I'll go again, Ozil is a great player but unless Gerrard is going full time on the right then we have no room for him. Other much more glaring needs for our team.

This lad would be perfect.  He has proven that he can play down the wings and has done well in that position for Bremen a few times.  He can play down either wing as he is good with both feet, and he is good through the middle.  I would love to see this kid in a Liverpool jersey, but unfortunately, I don't see it happening for anything shy of 10 - 15 mil.  I've got a feeling this kid is gonna have a hell of a World Cup, and he will not be going anywhere on the cheap....but I hope I'm wrong.

This guy, after one match, is one of the best playmakers I've seen. Ever.

I know, it was against Australia, but they're still a decent team, especially by international standards. They're 4-stars on FIFA 10!

This bloke was terrific in the Australia game. I don't see him going anywhere cheap based on that performance.
