You're wrong here mate.
Ozil had a fantastic world cup. One not so good game doesn't make a player bad. He's one heck of a talent. His through balls are absolute daggers. The lad works hard for the team. Maybe he was tired or what against Spain.
Ozil was one of the superstars of the WC. I would absolute love Watching Ozil playing in the Almighty Red shirt.
I've watched all of Germany's games so far. I know he has had a fantastic World Cup.
But if you just go back and watch the Spain game, where was he throughout the whole time? For a good 40 minutes or so, he was just content in strolling around even though Spain's players, who had the ball, were just a few metres away. Even Miroslav Klose was doing his defensive duties, I saw him chase a player to the left flank deep in the German's half.
Germany were practically playing with 9 men on the pitch because he wasn't bothered doing his defensive duties. When Germany were in possession of the ball, then he started to sprint to find space for others to pass the ball to him. He knew he had a duty to fulfil, to stop Xabi Alonso, Busquests from getting the ball to Xavi. But never did I see he did an interception, never did I see him even run towards the Spain's players to hassle them for the ball.
Tired? Not an excuse when you're fighting for a place in the world cup final is it?
