Now I know why Australia did so sh*t. They didn't factor in the noise in their preparations.  :f_whistle:

I'll like to get a vuvuzela so when I'm watching the World Cup in the wee hours of the morning I can paint my face with South African flag and blow it throughout the night

I'll get people knocking at my door but it'll be interesting

I actually find people moaning about them more annoying than the Vuvuzela itself.

...and i find people moaning about people moaning about them more annoying than the Vuvuzela itself.  ;D

      No wait....... no i F***ing don't........the Vuvuzela is an annoying w*nk, f**ker, c**t, Hicks of a thing!  >:D

A quick question: If (for argument's sake) both Reds and Milan fans had F***ing Vuvuzelas at Istanbul, how would the traveling Reds have lifted the team, blow harder?

How in the name of sweet, holy, F**k, can a team (S. African or other) be encouraged by a F***ing drone when BOTH sets of fans are contributing to the racket?

      Atmosphere my arse!

I'm usually quite laid back about things but this constant noise literally goes through me and it is honestly hampering my enjoyment of this tournament. It wouldn't bother me at all if it was sporadically heard, but because it's a constant drone, it properly spoils my enjoyment of the World Cup.

Unfortunately, South Africa 2010 for me will be quickly forgotten about if they don't cut back on that noise.

I don't care if I sound like a moaning old get. If I wanted to constantly hear that noise I'd take my TV into my car and lean it on the horn for 90 minutes. I end up muting the volume now.

vuvuzelas have become the latest war defence weapon of choice for the poorer nations.

They figure that if and when they are threatened by an impending invasion, they will all simultaneosly blow on their weapon and the enemy will retreat for some peace and quiet.

Those that persevere with the invasion will be driven insane by the noise and likely turn their guns on themselves.

A goal is scored and all you can hear is the same F***ing drone.

      What a load of sh*t.

Even my girlfriends dad who was just walking past getting ready for work this morning said "What is that noise?!" with a bit of a 'what the F**k' look on his face.

They are just F***ing annoying. I mean for some times ill forget about them, but then either a comment on the TV or just an increase in their noise will make me notice them again.

There were loads of these around at the festival and they were driving me up the wall when i was sober, actually really loud too so hate to think what they would be like in a football stadium.

I've been to watch us play Portsmouth and listened to 'Play up Pompey' for 30 minutes spells.

Press mute on your tele and throw 5 live on.  Nowhere near as bad.

I thought it was only African countries who play it but during the Netherlands -  Denmark game I saw many Dutch people blowing them too . Actually , during the Cameroon game I saw that some people in the crowd we're trying to sing and clap to a beat and I couldn't even hear it . I would prefer hearing people sing and chant to their own rhythms . And in that interview that guy said that they cannot play it during the national anthem or announcements .....well no sh*t ! Nobody ever speaks during national anthems , its a sign of respect and obviously you cannot blow them during announcement otherwise people cannot hear what the announcer is saying. Jeez .

I'm training a woman at work who's daughter has gone over to South Africa for the entire tournament. She said that when you're actually in the grounds, they aren't at all annoying and just add to the atmosphere but then she sat in the hotel to watch a game on TV and couldn't believe how irritating they were.

Don't mind the sound but too much of it is rather annoying and it masks the commentary. Well, carnival time, some noise won't do much harm I guess.
