      4th July 2010: Independence Day
      May 29, 2010 06:59:14 pm
      From the RAWK forum

      Date: Sunday 4th July 2010

      Time: TBA

Plans: A mass march from Liverpool city centre to Stanley Park (via Anfield).

The plan is to meet outside St George's Hall and make our way past Anfield and onto Stanley Park. We want everybody to help distribute anti-Gillett and Hicks leaflets/posters/stickers whilst on the march, to hand out to all non-participants we will pass. We will need one volunteer to operate a megaphone, leading the chants/songs at the front of the march (after all, there's nothing worse than not singing in unison). We want everybody to bring their anti-Gillett & Hicks flags/banners. If you don't have one, make one. It doesn't need to be a work of art. A simple sheet with a clear message painted on will do the trick. Once we arrive at Stanley Park, a mass amount of black balloons will be released into the sky.

Pre-march plans: On Thursday 1st July at 6pm BST, everybody who plans to participate in the march will send a pre-planned e-mail to a selection of media contacts (similar to the Rafa support e-mails a few weeks ago) to let them know are plans and give them chance to

This is a free date in the World Cup.

This isn't a debate on whether you think Rafa should be manager or not, this is simply a protest to let Gillett and Hicks know, we won't give up until they are gone. If they stick around much longer, we won't be discussing whether Rafa should be the manager or not as we won't have a football team in existant for anybody to manage.

I've been in contact with SOS about plans but they had doubts about the date/time due to the start of the holiday season but I had a lot of messages of support when I originally suggested the idea and I think we can make this work. If the march is to be effective though, we will need big numbers to attend and to make ourselves seen and heard by the UK media.

      Who's in?

I hope alot of people take part in this. The effort will be worth it to do your bit to help save our club.

If anything else, it sounds like an awesome day out. I miss being at football games terribly. Just the singing in unison will give me a much needed fix until the season starts.

I'll see if I can get a flag sorted. I like waving a nice flag  ;D

I like the little extra smack in the face that its being done on the 4th of July. Nice.

I hope a lot of people show up.  This can be good or bad.  A lot of people and a strong support gets the press involved and gets people talking. If only a small group show up then it looks bad.  I wish you guys success and hope it goes well.

Our artist's work has made it into the Dallas Observer yesterday with the poster of Torres at a cash machine with Hicks looking onholding a baseball cap.  Nice one mate.

Sure. It's a Liverpool FC Thing. But There's Something About How Hicks Holds a Bat ...

      Dallas Cowboy by Kit Nelson

Yesterday -- which is to say, shortly before The Dallas Morning News ran this press release fromprofile of Tom Hicks -- Friend of Unfair Park PeterK directed our attention to the Facebook page Liverpool FC Is Being Bled Dry - You Can Do Something About It. There I found, among other things, 5,436 people who really can't stand Hicks; a trailer for what appears to be a documentary about Hicks and George Gillett's troubled tenure as owners of the Reds; and 47 pieces of artwork, some suitable for framing, expressing fans' righteous indignation.

The one at right is by Kit Nelson, the Reds supporter who's responsible for such other classics as Grand Theft Anfield and Held to Ransom. Since it was posted a few days ago, it has become the defining artwork for the Save Liverpool FC movement.

Fair play to the Dallas observer picking up and exactly how hated that F***ing clown Hicks is, if Hicks and Gillette wait 2 years to sell the club mark my words they will make a loss but we will probably have been relegated or gone bust or both.
