I had to laugh this morning when I heard the opening day fixtures. They have only sent Big Sam back to Bolton to face Little Sam's Trotters!! Football always throws up situations like this, Situations that you just couldn't write. Lets hope Sammy Lee banishes all memories of Allerdyces long ball, kick 'em game and get Bolton playing the passing game we know and love! I don't think the Bar Codes will be too happy when their defence starts hoofing every ball up to the Big Lardy Viduka, but Fat Sams way is the path they have chosen. Allerdyce will probably get a good reception at the Reebok, unless he gets a win there when football being the fickle game it is the locals will want to hang, draw and quarter him! So I will be watching with interest on the opening day hoping Sammy Lee can get the win that will leave Fat Sam with egg on his face (although he will probably try to eat it!)
