A good point has been put across by RAWK (I know !) - the flag represents the owners and nothing more.

Fair play. We do want our Club back.

Why couldn't they burn something with Hicks and Gillettes pics on it.
Why couldn't they burn H&G? But you're right about burning their countries flag not a wise thing to do and will only distract from the main issue.

Burnin the flags a bit naughty because:

      A. FMAA (Flag Makers Association of America)
say they make about 100 MILLION american flags every year

      B. Tom Hicks owns the FMAA

What happened to the boycott?   :f_tongueincheek:

Burning the flag was a masterstroke for one reason only it will highlight our plight further in the states and add more pressure on those two pricks.

I disagree with the owners burning the Liverbird.
      Once again... ?? Expand please.

Also me and you are not in the 'rest' of us.

He couldn't expand to save his F***ing life, which may be an issue if he doesn't get banned soon.

Once again... a minority of LFC supporters giving the rest of us a bad name.

Forgetting the rest of your quote which is the biggest part of you? The side that judges LFC fans or the Mancy side? You've just given yourself away mate. A Liverpool fan doesn't judge a Liverpool fan in a "giving the rest of us a bad name". We leave that to shitty tabloid hacks, Mancs and idiots.

Don't think burning the flag of the US was a very wise thing to do because there are some Americans who are Liverpool fans.
I assume you are vehemtly opposed to the following banners as well then.

      'THANKS BUT NO YANKS'

'BUILT BY SHANKS. BROKE BY YANKS'??

Clearly Liverpool fans do not despise Americans. Anyone who contemplates that is a complete loon.  If anything this serves to show just how much anger there is towards the owners.

      :) excellent point...

on a more serious note I think burning the US flag is wrong. If we had Irish owners who had fu**ed the club up (it wouldn't happen btw) I would hate to see the tricolour being burned even if it was meant to just represent the owners.

So all Liverpool fans should happily acclaim themselves to be one and the same with a minority of disrespectful idiots?

I happily am not one and the same with the people who burn another nations flag.  If the owners were English... would you have burnt the flag of England?

on a side note... I see the biggest insult here is - if you don't agree with us, you are a manc. ;D

Anyone who's small minded enough to think that burning the flag is either an attack on America or their people is an idiot or has an agenda. The political wranglings between countries has nothing to do with LFC. We see people from countries burning flags for a variety of reasons which this forum isn't about. The burnt flag symbolises what the Americans have done to LFC and not the American peoples way of life or beliefs.

We just happen to HATE 2 particular Yanks, end of.

Its a piece of cotton, get over it.

      Cancelled my e-season. Reason:
Owners are useless, made the worst decision for the Club in 118 years. I draw the line there. There will be MANY more cancellations.

I suggest if you have one, to cancel it.

Right... lets just burn a piece of cotton showing the emblem of the Liver Bird then.

I'm sure you wouldn't be so comfortable with that.

The fact that any of you may need explanation on why burning that flag was wrong is kind of disturbing. As much as I think fans should stick together through such difficult times, this is so not-Liverpool that it kinds of bring the question on whether we are on the same boat.

No but its somethin that you'd see someone from another british club do or someone from a european club if we're on the road. I just wouldn't bother my arse gettin upset by it.

I would like to get the opinion of our Americans on the site. I don't agree with burning the flag but I think 99% of LFC fans will realise that it was aimed specifically at th2 2 numpties and not the nation.

That was the intention no doubt.. but that doesn't make it acceptable.

To sink so low and burn another nations flag... H&G must have been laughing at that.
