      Yaya Touré (Manchester City)

Barcelona's Yaya Touré tipped for Liverpool FC swap deal following agent claim
Yaya Touré could be in line for a move to Liverpool after his agent claimed that the Barcelona midfielder has already agreed a deal to join a Premier League club.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been in the hunt for the 27-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester City where he would link up with brother Kolo, as Barcelona continue to eye Cesc Fabregas.

But after Arsenal rejected a £29million bid earlier this week, the La Liga champions have once again turned their attention to Javier Mascherano after failing to lure the Liverpool holding midfielder to Spain last summer.

A swap deal has been mooted with Mascherano, 25, keen to leave Anfield whilst Liverpool are unable to meet Barca's €36million asking price, but Touré's agent, Dimitri Seluk, has remained tight-lipped until the Ivory Coast international returns from the World Cup.

He said: "If everything goes well, Yaya will go to England.

"But we can't talk about definite clubs. We already have a closed deal, and all will be resolved before the World Cup."

Liverpool supporters also claim that managing director Christian Purslow hinted at a deal for Touré was imminent when he was bombarded with phone calls yesterday following Rafael Benitez's departure.

Toure + €25M and I'd consider it (no doubt we would never get to spend that money though). Masch is in a different class to Toure, we'd be taking a massive step back if we don't get some money for him as well

      Pure F**king Slime.
Looks like we'll be shipping out our best players and bringing in rejects from the respective clubs in the process.
Cant what to see who Real give us for Gerrard.

      I actually think he's a good player.

Not as good as Masch, but I'm not sure it's fair to compare. Yaya makes up with height and strength for lacking Masch's abilities. He can also play CB fairly comfortably.

If Masch has got his heart set on Barca then let's go with Yaya + a fair amount of money. I'd be happy with that.

Yaya + Bojan and I'm a happy guy.

As long as those pricks are in power I don't want to hear anything about money unless they're spending it.

If this is true then we're gonna lose one of our best players. Pity. Our club is getting torn apart.

I know we dont wanna lose our best players but it seems like masch has been angling for a move to barca for ages, let him go, if he doesnt want to play for the pool then hes not wanted. YaYa is a super midfielder and a more than able centre half I think hes the sort of player we should be buying, unlike some of the crap we have bought recently

Yaya is not fit to lace mascheranos boots. Nowhere near as good as masch. However if masch comes out and says he wants to leave then let him leave. But not a swap with Toure

If it were Yaya + Bojan or Yaya plus a fair bit of cash for masch, I'd take it.

I know Masch is a quality player but I honestly think Lucas can do his job- almost as well. With maybe an extra season's experience, Lucas might be as good as Masch at that job, he just lacks the same tackling ability.

I dont see how we can possibly be linked with him with no manager, unless Purslow is going to do the deal. Either way, the new manager may not want Toure.

Since we would be getting someone like Hodgson or Redknapp as our manager,I think the emphasis would be on bringing more English players who have done well in the EPL so we could see someone like Ireland or Parker coming in and Lucas being asked to fill in for Masch.

The departure of Masch does seem, unfortunately, inevitible. If we can get someone like Toure in as a replacement, that will be good business under our current restraints.

Would love to see Bojan in the deal as well :D

Yeah, considering our situation, that wouldn't be bad business.

And as for Bojan, i've always admired him, think he's very underrated and...
All my friends from the spanish exchange are Barca fans and Bojan doesn't seem to be very well liked amongst them and apparently by alot of Barca fans for some reason. It was the same for Eto'o. :-\ strange. But i suppose when your team is that good you can afford to be picky eh

Yaya would offer more going forward than Masch. He's massively restricted at Barca when playing with Xavi and Iniesta, who will do all of the attacking. Yaya actually has a better range of passing than Masch and doesn't take as long to spot them.

Defensively I'd say masch is much better, but Yaya also offers more height and strength (something that we lack).

I don't think it's going to matter if the manager wants a player or not, we're probably going to have a 'yes man' in 'charge'.
