MAG PS3

Was only announced at E3 (about 20mins ago so not alot of info BUT

256 players ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!! (yes 256 thats not a typo)

Gonna be huge, that and INfamous and GOWIII gives the PS3 a better line up than the 360. Throw in Resistance2, KZ2, GT5, Motorstorm 2, Uncharted 2, JAk and Daxter 5 and you have one intense gaming line up. I'm happy!

It'll set the benchmark if it's as good as people say. Games are going to get better as a result of this! The futures looking good for us PS3 gamers!

The thing that made me laugh is that they decided not to show any ingame footage. I expect huge amounts of lag if people dont all have at least a decent internet service.

sony disappointed hugely at E3, one hour and a half presentation with just 4 games of note in there each with trailers of no longer than a minute.

whats the pont of showing footgae if its not going to be the full 256 players? the game is still being made and is not even in a beta stage so everything is still in house, i'm pretty sure it will be run on Servers which will mean you wont have to worry about lag so much....

What made me laugh was MS showed copies of Singstar/Buzz/Home and got all over excited about agame which is now MP which most people i've seen dont even care about (excluding Jap on which the xbox barly can sell 1000 consols a month)

TBH none of them were like wow fantastic but http://www.psbeyond.com/news/Heavy-Rain-and-other-games-shown-behind-closed-doors.750.html there is more stuff coming for the PS3 rather that 1 game on 360 GoW2

Downloaded the video (MAG Part 2 ENG) from the PSN Store.

This game looks absolutely unbelievable. Ridiculous amounts of interaction, especially with 256 online at the same time.

They're banging on about how it incorporates everyone on the map and how you're never far away from the action. 64 players feels a lot on SOCOM: Confontation. 256 will be like a Battle Royal.

Anyone downloaded the MAG Beta from the PSN Store?

Yeah, i've played it and it's alright. So far it's not as impressive as i first thought.

Let me put it this way, It's not better than Modern Warfare 2. For me, the reason i'm not so hot on it is that it's just too complex and it's not simple like MW2.

Play it CRK and tell me what you think.

Thought this was something about Magillionaire's PS3 when I first saw it.

So, what is MAG?

The videos at the start of the thread pretty much sum it up.

Basically Call of Duty online, with 256 players but not as good.

Would have been quicker waiting for the release date.

Finally got it all going.

Must say it is looking quite good up to now. Liking the base style missions and the different squads on different teams. 

I think it's a little unfair to compare the Beta to COD though. It'd be much better to compare the finished article. 

MAG definitely has a good selling point in a massive number of players. Be interesting to see what the final game offers.

Brother bought it yesterday and asked me to watch the download whilst he sleeps.

Decided not to play it as he was the one who bought it. Thought it's only right he has the first play. I'm good like that!

Looking forward to seeing what it's like though!
