Not sure how this ends well. If he goes there and does a crap job he's going to get endless more abuse from their fans.

I thought Spuds would have been all over him as free sacking Jose, Everton… not sure what he can achieve there as the club doesn’t have much for having a winning mentality history..

Rafa makes legendary status for the miracle, but he is not high in the hiearchy for me. He got the club, he was brilliant with Hillsborough and he operated under appalling owners, yet the style was sh*t, cautious and defence first Mourinho like. It might have been different if he got a bigger budget, but his fundamental coaching instincts made for dull sh*te a lot of the time.

Will always have plenty of time for Rafa,the man is a legend in my eyes & will always get my utmost respect & if he does end up at Everton my  opinion of him won’t change.

If allowed to by the bitters he would get them up to about top 6 in a few seasons.

He would find some good players for them cos they like to chuck money about and get their fingers burnt and he might actually find them a bit of value.

Its not an ideal situation on the surface but if you break it down to basics hes the best coach on the market they can hope to attract, he will have a budget to spend which is what he's wanted for years and of course Rafa wants to move back to Merseyside.

Their furious indignation is an absolute joy to see for now, but perhaps if all that boils away over time and they support him he could be a thorn in our side himself.

Another couple of years, with some backing, he'd have won the league.
He had to build his team slowly, and he almost got there.

You make it sound like we were parking the bus under Rafa. I suggest you watch again some of our games. Yes, we were organised and played a bit more defensively than under Jürgen, but that's basically 95% of the managers. That's a far cry from anti-football.

I think he’s mistaken with the Darren Farley version of  Rafa... 😂

That doesn't mean he's perfect, unimprovable and immune from criticism. I think his coaching instincts were defence first and there were a lot of dull matches at that time. Hansen criticised him for it, Gerrard is less than warm on his coaching and managerial style. We probably would have won the title and been more attractive if he'd been given the funds he needed, so there's that. Why people jump on your back as soon as you are less than venerative about him is bewildering. He's great, but he's not at the level of Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish and, I think, Klopp.

Similar approach, not the same thing. We had great players for a start. Mourinho's 2005 Chelsea were safety first but they were still a great team.
