James Corden And Patrick Stewart In Onstage Argument

James Corden and Sir Patrick Stewart clash on stage

Comedian James Corden and Sir Patrick Stewart became involved in a bizarre on-stage spat at the Glamour Awards on Tuesday.

Sir Patrick criticised Corden - host of the event - for standing with his hands in his pockets, adding: "From where I was sitting, I could see your belly."

Corden responded: "You could see my belly. I can see you dying right now."

The pair continued to trade insults, and several prize-winners remarked on the quarrel as they accepted awards.

After the show, Corden said: "I found it quite disappointing. You should ask him about it but I'm certain he's left."

Sir Patrick presented the film actress of the year prize to Avatar star Zoe Saldana.

Accepting her award, she said to Corden: "I like your belly but I'd like to see Sir Patrick Stewart dying on stage any day."

Corden then said: "I feel bad for people who haven't seen my belly."

To huge applause, the Gavin and Stacey star lifted his T-shirt, revealing his tummy.

Referring to Sir Patrick, he said: "OK can we get a taxi really quickly please. There's an old man going home."

Several stars commented on the verbal tussle.

Nowhere Boy actor Aaron Johnson said: "I love your belly. That was intense. I didn't know where to look."

Singer Duffy told the crowd she thought Corden was doing a "wonderful job" and called him "highly entertaining".

Meanwhile, Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole was named woman of the year at the event, which took place in central London.

The star, who recently announced she was divorcing her footballer husband Ashley Cole, said: "Four or five years ago, I'd never dreamt I'd be here amongst so many glamorous women.

"One person I definitely have to thank is my dentist. So thank you very much."

Among the other winners were The One Show host Christine Bleakley, who won presenter of the year, best TV personality went to Dannii Minogue and Florence and the Machine took band of the year.

There were also trophies for Lily Allen, Ruth Jones, Billie Piper, Nicole Richie, Fearne Cotton, Alexandra Burke and Yoko Ono who won an outstanding contribution award.

The winners were voted for by readers of Glamour magazine.

Corden's body language there would suggest he was pretty shaken by that.

Sounds like a bit of a strange one that??

And the comments afterwards are just all about James Corden's belly. Weird. I haven't watched the video yet but it sounds like a staged incident. Although if he looked shook up then I don't know?

Bit harsh him saying Sir Patrick Stewart is dying though. He's X off the X-Men. Doesn't he know the rules? :D

Usually if someone was to make a comment like that to Corden he'd probably laugh it off in some way.

Weird that. Can't watch the vid 'cause my internet speed's really slow at the moment.

Really awkward. Corden didn't look comfortable at all and Stewart came across as a right c**t.

I find Corden embarrassing anyway, what exactly does he do?
In a way Parick Stewart was asking the same thing.

      Both came across like idiots.

I like them both, but Corden was acting like a c*nt behind a man who is respected by almost every serious actor in the biz, Stewart didnt do himself any favours with the lame "Do you want another" then possibly the worse come back ever.

Should of gone with.... "You so fat, you wore high heels and stuck oil"

      Genius

Don't like James Corden TBH, another wannabee who has made his name from one TV series.  I watch a 'League of Their Own' on Sky and find him really irritating, I only watch it cos John Bishop's on it  ;)

Same as Vicky used to beat the hell out of me watching him on Gavin and Stacey wondering what he was there for, you know when you feel embarrassed for someone because they look so out of place and know it themselves well it was one of them.
The trouble is he looks that way every time he's on TV - fair play and no one likes to see anyone make a pr**k of themselves but give us a break he gets someone to pay him for it and we've got to watch it.

Dead right. Really bad experience for the both of them.

Anyway does anyone else think James Corden's cashing in on the World Cup, strange as it seems.

Not very smart of Corden to argue with the head of the CIA.

If that video was the highlight of the scrap, then god knows how pathetic the rest was. Was F***ing sh*te, I was expecting some good arl fashioned comebacks but instead it was that. Really disappointing.

Both made themselves look like pricks but so what so do most in the showbiz world at some point. If it gets them a few minutes on the telly or a few more lines in a gossip column then it's worth it for them.

Same as Billy can't be arsed with all that thespian crap, was watching Extras tho and that one with Patrick Stewart in was boss-the one where he plays himself on a film set and really takes the piss out of his character. After seeing that my ideas changed and I saw him in a different light.
The other crank Corden is a one trick pony and that's an exaggeration, the way he patronises and cracks on that he is playing a part that is devoid of personality when in fact it's him as a person that is lacking in character, he bores the sh*t out of me to be honest.
