Most pointless sport?

What sports make no sense to you?

For me it's got to be Handball. It just makes no sense whatsoever. It looks stupid on tv. It's like a bunch of people running around just throwing a ball?

Who actually looks at it and says 'I want to play that sport?'

I know , they torture the poor  animals , as much as I love Spanish people (looking at you Nando ) I don't know how they glorify in bullfighting , they are so proud of it. And for me any other hunting which is considered as a sport because to me hunting is not a sport is a homicide , I do not understand how people get a thrill out of killing animals .

Never watched cricket in my life. But it seems weird, so long.

I don't know how someone can enjoy watching golf. Playing might be nice, I dont know (never did), but watching? I always fall asleep when I try.

Playing golf is decent. Played today for the first time in years!

As I said in another thread earlier today, I can't really get my head around any sport other than footy.

I see the point in Formula 1, I just don't really watch it. I love cars but F1 is won in a wind tunnel, not on the track. Other motorsports are that little bit more raw, which I like. Probably because the cars are much easier to relate to as well.

And as much as I acknowledge the skills involved in skateboarding, BMX, rollerskating, surfing, boogy boarding, and so on, they don't really do it for me as sports. More like showing off, with judges watching. Like Britain's Got Talent really.

And personally, probably much to the annoyance of other posters, I'm not feeling the cricket thing. 

I'm definately much more into collective sports than individuals. I like to see players acting together, tactics, team work, all that stuff. The individual sport I like the most is probably Tennis, but I'm not the biggest fan anyway.

Most pointless sport? Baseball...basically glorified Rounders!

Some sports might suck gigantic straws when you have to watch it, but are awesome to actually participate in, F1 seems a great example here.

Baseball. Many a time a game of Major League Baseball overruns on ESPN American when Im wanting to watch ice hockey so Ive watched a fair bit unfortunately. Tedious. F**k all happens and even when it does for some reason most of the time its some form of foul ball.

F**k off baseball. Making me miss hockey.

Darts, golf, poker, american football and basketball all deserve honourable mentions in terms of a spectator sport. No joke one time a few years ago when I had trouble sleeping I used to watch golf alot because it always made me fall asleep.

Don't like the baseball hate It is one that you either get or you don't, but it's good.

I think 'pointless sports' is a bit of a stupid topic if im honest. I think that a lot of the ones in here mentioned are just ones people don't like - that doesn't make them pointless.

I agree, but mostly because of the goalkeepers. It's nigh on impossible to stop any shot that's thrown, therefore all they are there for is what seems like an aerobic workout.

Oh and cricket, baseball, curling etc.

Actually I used to play handball for my college team and mate its not that stupid at all And do you know its the second fastest team game after ice hokey. I recommend this game to you and if you don't like it come tell me.

Love f1 - those guys lose 3 kg in water every race. Proper tough. Hate golf - incredibly boring sport to watch. Also I don't know how darts is classified as a sport? It's a pub game. If that's a sport then so should monopoly!

Guy goes to a   restaurant and asks for the local delicasi and is served bulls balls, the following day he asks for the same and questions the waiter, these arn't what i had last night, no senor the bull WON.

Any motor sport is a massive waste of petrol in my opinion, we're supposed be living in an environmentally friendly world and yet people are aloud to drive massive engines round a track, absolutely guzzling up petrol that people need to actually get to places as opposed to driving round in circles. In a sensible world it should have been banned years ago, also it shouldn't be considered a sport and neither is it entertaining. I hate motor racing.

Think I might add Baseball (mostly pure luck) and Ice Hockey too, seems very idiotic that you can smash people up against glass legitimately and also fighting seems to be tolerated as well for some reason.

i hate rugby league! union is a great sport but league is a no skilled 'sport'. all they do is run for 10m then get a 10 second breather! someone does a little shimmy and a sidestep and they are a amazing player!? all you need to be good at the game is a few courses of steroids, a poxy haircut and the brightest footy boots you can find. union is actually flowing, it hardly stops.

Has to be Fishing, might be alright competing but watching no thanks, like watching grass grow.

You could stand out at the side for hours, and the ball might not come anywhere near you. It might be fun to play, but it lacks excitement to watch, I can't get into it at all.

I understand people not liking cricket - but it is most definitely not pointless. There is a lot of tact involved in the game, a lot more than many other sports in fact. I find cricket is one of the only sports left where the choice of captain truly has a lot of importance, and that is down to the intense tactical nature of the game.

Any sport concerning vehicles! I dont get how sitting in a car driving at suicidal speed is a sport?
