Well, I know the many Aussies on here will be really looking forward to this one. Should be interesting to see what Germany are like in terms of contendership for the tournament, and how Australia cope with them. Come on Australia!

Ger-ma-ny! Any team with Harry Kewell, Lucas Neill and Tim Cahill is a no go for me. Sorry guys.

I'm very curious to see this German side play. They lost some important players due to injury (Adler, Westermann, Rolfes, Ballack) but there's still a lot of quality. Some of them lack experience (like Ozil) but if they get to play well as a team, they could be entertaining. Lahm said few days ago that it was the most technically gifted German World Cup squad he ever saw.

Edit: Almost forgot to say I got Australia in the sweep. Go Aussies! Oi oi oi?

I'm curious as to how both of these teams will do in this tournament.

Germany always seem to do well, despite not being the strongest on paper. It'll be interesting to see how they do without Ballack, who always seems to play out of his skin for the Germans.

Although Australia have some decent players, I can't see anything other than a victory for Germs-many.

I think this Germany is more creative and technical than they've been in recent years, which should make them a pleasant watch, hopefully.

Will be a good game this one me thinks.

Germany yet again written off by a lot of people but I think they can make the quarters at least. The second team from the group in wide open IMO.

Just lashed a fiver on Cahill scoring at any point. 4/1.

Might lash a few quid on Germany for the sake of it.

Maybe put winnings on Italy tomorrow (they're evens to beat Paraguay).

      6/1.

I'm wondering whether to put a bet on both Klose and Podolski to score or just one of the two.

Is Podolski even playing? I'd hope not after the season's he had. Though he always seems to perform better with international games than on club level.

That's what they're saying now on BBC - Klose and Podolski are as much use as a chocolate teapot in domestic football but they are a different animal in International games.
