Really looking forward to this one.

Fingers crossed the real Spain turn up too. Could be good enough to rival the Brazil match lastnight. :)

Spain have got to score early I think. Otherwise, they'll start flapping.

Honduras will probably park the bus and try hit on a break.

Hopefully should be a good game.

Spain line up with Alonso and Navas in front of Busquets with Xavi behind Torres and Villa. Surprising but looks like he's going on form, Del Bosque.

Probably because he plays his football in Spain.

Which gives him an extra bit of power when it comes to the all-powerful Madrid media.

Just watching Spain, and some of the crisp passing between the players is a joy to behold. They very much play for each other don't they, there always seems to be someone there, someone for them to pass to.

He'll find his stride I'm sure, although I remember him and Villa have always had issues playing up front together... Well as much trouble as you can have for winning the Euros. But I trust he just needs a goal to get going.

Should have been 5 or 6 at least. Spain were really wasteful!
Honduras were no Switzerland nor Chile, the amount of mispasses they gave to Spain was astonishing. Spain really need to improve to win against Chile. They could have been easily punished by a better team. They were lucky to play against Honduras only.

I thought Spain were quite wasteful too. But no doubt that game will have given them a big boost and they are capable of playing some brilliant football.

It's all in the head for Spain.

I think Villa on the left side would be really dangerous against Chile because that left side could have been exploited by Honduras. I guess he was put on the left because Del Bosque knew beforehand about Honduras' ability.

Jesus Navas on the right was okay, but it makes me remember Aaron Lennon, running and dribbling without end product (overhit crosses, blocked crosses, etc). Hopefully he can perform better in the next game otherwise Spain would have a problem. They can take risk by throwing Pedro on the right though. He seems to play okay on the right wing for Barça.

I wish our man Torres had scored a goal today to build his confidence up, ah well....

If they play Iniesta, i'd like to see him on the left. They looked brilliant with some width in Navas on the right.

I'd keep what they did for the next game, though.

      Meh don't know about Navas.

He looked unique in giving them an extra dimension but lost way too much possession and fluffed too many crosses for my liking.

I agree he was pretty sh*te. But the width just opened it up for Xavi and Villa and in turn, Torres.

Unless the put Pedro on, who has a better end product.

      Exactly.

Alonso can do everything Busquets can do, and more. Fabregas or Iniesta should be playing ahead of him.
