Another look at our (potential) new striker in Jovanovich.

Pretty open group this. Should Germany win, then Serbia could go through. Sadly, I think it would have to be a big swing for the Aussies to make it through. :-\

In theory, but think they need 2 more goals or something. Or 1 more and Ghana 1 more against them by Germany. And yeah, or if Germany looses.

What a quality second half of football. Was exciting for 90 minutes but the players finally got rewards in that second.

Well we finally we see Australia play a good game , unfortunately it's too little too late . Well done Australia , you have done your nation proud .
Now all the plastic "soccer" fans that pop up every 4 years can go back to following whatever sport they truly follow . It's laughable that there are people in this country who think we can actually win the world cup , a little less so are those who expect us to reach the final 16 , it's the world cup for fucks sake . We overachieved last world cup and people actually think that this will be the norm for us .
Verbeek has a lot to answer for , more so than the players . The team he put on the park against Germany (4 defenders and 6 midfielders) smacked of a defeatist attitude and put us on the back foot from the get go . His substitutes were baffling in some cases or he simply refused to make any at the appropriate times . Playin with 10 men for about a hour in our first 2 games certainly didn't help either .
Again well done to Australia you have done the nation proud , to even qualify for the tournament is a massive achievement

May seem a bit knee-jerkish but he fu**ed up in both games. Kennedy had to start in every game and he buckled, Verbeek.

McDonald had to be there, also. Even as a super sub.

Oh, and Valeri is F***ing woeful.

Must give mention to Wilkshere and Holman. I thought they had outstanding tournaments.

^^^ exactly crouchinho , we were short on strikers and he sent McDonald home . granted i don't think he has scored for Australia yet , but the fact remains we were woefully short in the strikers department .

Doesn't help when he is given very little chance or faith by the coach (McDonald).

Was a shambles right from the beginning. He tinkered around way too much and you'd think with the time he has had he would know what his best team was with what he had.

more awful referees in this group. penalty not given in extra time, handball in the middle of the box, we all saw that

serbia was unlucky, too many missed chances in the first half

shwarzer saved australia a few times. a point would have been enough for serbia, but composure in front of the goal was crucial in this match
