Can't believe the amount of abuse Nando is getting off the commentators. Llorente has been useless since he's come on, 'Mr Big & Strong' to the BBC lot.

I thought Torres was playing well.  But Spain are though!  ;)

      Glad Spain made it through.

David Villa is a very, very good player. Not only a scorer but as a player.

I thought Fernando Torres looked sharper than previous games and it was nice to see. Pity he gets subbed off really early just like when Aragones was the manager. He is either "performing badly" or is "being protected".

I'm surprised David Silva has been a substitute all this while. Aragones tended to play him with Xavi, Senna (now Alonso) and Iniesta. I guess it's because of Busquets, ;D.

      And anyone read this?

Mad Ronaldo spits at TV camera
      http://soccernet.espn.go.com/world-cup/story/_/id/804256/ce/uk/?cc=4716&ver=global

Cristiano Ronaldo's disappointing World Cup ended on a sour note as he was caught spitting towards a cameraman following Portugal's 1-0 loss to Spain in the second round.

Portugal captain Ronaldo reacted angrily to the cameraman's attempts to follow him off the pitch in close proximity immediately after the final whistle, waving him away before spitting in his direction while looking down the barrel of the camera, an act that was broadcast around the world.

While he was taking his frustration out on the man behind the lens, Ronaldo's spit appeared to the global audience to be directed towards them in an ugly act that could upset many of the fans of one of football's most marketable men.

Ronaldo failed to fire in the tournament, scoring just once in Portugal's 7-0 thrashing of DPR Korea and otherwise lacking involvement as his side went scoreless in their other three matches.

After the match, he told reporters to "talk to Carlos Queiroz" about Portugal's elimination from the World Cup. During the second half of the second round match, in which David Villa scored the only goal not long after the break, Ronaldo appeared frustrated as Queiroz issued a string of tactical instructions from the sideline that ultimately failed to bring Ronaldo, or Portugal, into the game.

C*nt of the highest order. Who he thinks he is?

I saw CR9 do that and thought that is going to go down well.

Motty kept saying what is Quieroz doing? CR9 has no idea.

Was a fairly boring match to be honest, glad to see spain get through (nothing to do with me having my money on them ;) )
Thought torres was back to his usual best, when inside the first five mins he had a great attempt, wasnt to be though! Ive got to stop backing the man for first goalscorer, and get on the villa bandwagon, maybe my scuddy money is the reason torres couldnt score his arse on babrbed wire?

Glad to see Spain go through. But I think that Del Bosque shouldn't sub Nando off that early. If he wants him to start playing, subbing him off on 58th minute won't help.

It looked like that Spain played without wingers. They look much more dangerous when they play with wingers, and Villa could do much more damage.

And Ronaldo is such a c**t.

I was very surprised, when I had seen Fernando's substitution, but Llorente had performed very well. Our Nando has to score more throughout this mundial, cause he is going to take risk to have a very strong competitor in spanish national's team.

What did he do? They had to score when I was making a cup of tea didn't they! D'oh!!

Was the first one out of the whole squad to get to Villa first to start celebrating with him, one quick f**ker off the mark.

Also loved his charging onto the pitch at the end when he thought one of the portuguese was kicking off at Capdevilla, before celebrating with the rest of his teammates.

Yeah, I think 60th minute is too early to take of Torres. The only way he can regain his lethalness is by playing more and I think he's been taken off pretty early in all/most of the matches. But to be fair, del Bosque could be "protecting" him.

However, he did look sharper last night compared to his previous games. Had one long curler from where he scored against Sunderland and also that quick touch from the corner. Also made some nice runs and held the ball nicely.

Wouldn't be surprised if Torres does come up with a vital goal the next game, or the next or the final ;) As long as he gets the goals when it matters most, I'm happy.
